Uttarakhand Shadi Anudan Yojana

Shadi Anudan Yojana is a scheme of Uttarakhand government for providing financial help to the households belonging to BPL category. It is a scheme of social welfare department for the welfare of married women of General, SC/ST category who are below poverty line.

Objective

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the married girl or widow who is financially below poverty line whether belonging to General or SC/ST category.

Eligibility Criteria :

1. General categories people living below poverty line.
2. The girl must be at least 18 years of age i.e. the minimum legal age for the marriage of a girl on the date of marriage.
3. The beneficiary must be Uttarakhand Domicile.
4. Widow belonging to BPL category on the marriage of her daughter.
5. Family having income equal to or less than Rs 15000/- per annum.

Benefits under Shadi Anudan Yojana

1. Households below poverty line belonging to SC/ST category will be getting a lump sum of Rs 50,000/-.
2. Widows of the family with maximum 2 daughters will also be provided a lump sum of Rs 50,000/-.

Since the scheme currently depends on limited budget, payment is possible only on the basis of priority list based on budget availability. In addition, in the year in which the marriage took place, only applications for the same year (from March 1 to March 28–29 of the next year) are valid in that year.
