Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is one of the most popular social welfare schemes launched by the Government of India to provide clean cooking fuel to economically weaker households. Eligibility Requirements

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) provides free LPG connections to eligible women belonging to poor households. Applicants must satisfy all eligibility conditions prescribed by the Government of India and should belong to one of the approved beneficiary categories under the scheme.

• The applicant must be an adult woman aged 18 years or above.
• The applicant must be an Indian citizen residing in India.
• The LPG connection is issued only in the name of the eligible woman applicant.
• Neither the applicant nor any member of her household should have an existing domestic LPG connection from any Public Sector Oil Marketing Company.
• Households already having a domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection are not eligible for subsidised LPG benefits.

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) Households.
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) Households.

Additional Conditions for Other Poor Households

Applicants seeking benefits under the "Other Poor Household" category through the prescribed 14-Point Declaration should not possess any of the following assets or conditions:

• Two-wheeler, three-wheeler, four-wheeler vehicle or a motorized fishing boat.
• Mechanized three-wheeler or four-wheeler agricultural equipment.
• Kisan Credit Card with a credit limit exceeding Rs. 50,000.
• Any member of the household employed in Government service.
• Any member of the household earning more than Rs. 10,000 per month.
• Households operating government-registered non-agricultural enterprises.
• Households paying Income Tax or Professional Tax.
• A house having three or more rooms with pucca walls and a pucca roof.
• A refrigerator in the household.
• A landline telephone connection.
• More than 2.5 acres of irrigated land with at least one irrigation equipment.
• Five acres or more irrigated land used for two or more crop seasons.
• 7.5 acres or more land with at least one irrigation equipment.

Eligibility for Migrant Families

• Migrant families may apply under Ujjwala 2.0 by submitting the prescribed self-declaration form.
• Migrant applicants are not required to submit a ration card or conventional address proof if they furnish the prescribed self-declaration as per scheme guidelines.
• The self-declaration serves as proof of address and family composition for eligible migrant households.

Online Application Process

• Visit the official PM Ujjwala Yojana portal.
• Click on the "Apply for New Ujjwala PMUY Connection" option available on the homepage.
