Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview 

The Maharashtra Government launched the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, also popularly known as the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Scheme, to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible women beneficiaries of the state. The scheme was announced by former Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Shri Ajit Pawar during the supplementary budget presentation on 28 June 2024 and was officially launched on 17 August 2024. This Maharashtra Government Scheme for Women aims to strengthen the financial condition of women and make them self-reliant.

Under the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, eligible women beneficiaries receive a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,500/- directly in their bank accounts through DBT mode. The Maharashtra Government has also announced that the assistance amount may be increased to Rs. 2,100/- in future after official approval. The Maharashtra Rs 1500 Scheme for Women helps beneficiaries manage household expenses, nutrition, healthcare, and other daily needs.

Women between 21 years and 65 years are eligible to apply under Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Earlier, the upper age limit was 60 years, but the government later extended it to 65 years. Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, destitute, and unmarried women can apply if their annual family income is below Rs. 2.50 lakh.

The Women and Child Development Department, Maharashtra, is the nodal department implementing the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Scheme across the state. Eligible women can complete the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Online Apply process through the official portal, Narishakti Doot App, or offline application form available at Anganwadi Centres and local government offices.

The Maharashtra Government allocated around Rs. 46,000 crore for the smooth implementation of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. More than 2.5 crore women are expected to benefit from this welfare scheme. The government also continues beneficiary verification and the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana e-KYC process to ensure that only eligible women continue receiving financial assistance.

Latest Update on Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana 2026

As per the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Latest Update, the Maharashtra Government has started a large-scale beneficiary verification and Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana e-KYC drive across the state. During this verification process, several women beneficiaries were found ineligible because of incomplete e-KYC, incorrect bank details, duplicate applications, income criteria violations, or a mismatch in official records.

According to recent reports, around 70 lakh women have reportedly been removed from the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Beneficiary List after scrutiny and verification. The government clarified that only eligible beneficiaries fulfilling all conditions of the scheme will continue receiving monthly financial assistance under the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Scheme.

Under this Ladki Bahin Yojana New Update, beneficiaries whose names were removed from the list are advised to complete their e-KYC process and contact the Women and Child Development Department office or the nearest help centre for correction and verification. The government has also extended the e-KYC deadline several times for the convenience of eligible women beneficiaries.

The government has also warned beneficiaries to complete Aadhaar-bank linking and e-KYC verification to avoid suspension of future instalments under the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Scheme.

Eligibility Requirements

• Only women beneficiaries are eligible to apply under the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Eligibility conditions.
• Applicant women should be residents of Maharashtra.
• Eligible categories include :-
  • Married Women.
  • Widowed Women.
  • Divorced Women.
  • Abandoned Women.
  • Destitute Women.
  • Unmarried Women.
• The age of the applicant woman should be between 21 years to 65 years.

• First complete Ladki Bahin Yojana Registration using mobile number and password. 
  
• Following information will be filled in the Registration Form of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana:-

• Update the profile by filling in Full Name, Email, District and Taluka.
• Choose Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladk Bahini Yojana from the Homescreen.
  
• Fill the following details in the Online Application Form of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana :-
  • Full Name.
  • Husband Name.
  • Date of Birth.
  • District, City and Gram Panchayat Name.

• Selected Women beneficiaries will get monthly financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana from September 2024 onwards.

Through Offline Application Form

• Women Beneficiaries can apply for Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana through the Application Form.
• Offline Application Form of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is available free of cost in the office of Anganwadi Centre or Child Development Project Officer/ Gram Panchayat / Gram Sabha Office.
• Collect the application form, attach all required documents, and submit it to the same office from where it was collected.
• After preliminary scrutiny of the received application form and documents, the selected list of beneficiaries will be forwarded to concerned authority for final approval.
• After final approval, financial assistance of Rs. 1,500/- under Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will be transferred in the bank account of the beneficiary.
