Introduction

  • Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme is the flagship scheme of Karnataka Government for the welfare of women.
  • It was started in the year 2009.
  • Department of Women and Child Development of Karnataka is the nodal department of this scheme.
  • The meaning of the name of this scheme is :-
    • Thayi Means :- Mother.
    • Bhagya Means :- Future.
  • This scheme is basically targets the Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers of Karnataka State.
  • The main objective behind launching this scheme is to basic treatment free of cost to pregnant women.
  • Under Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme, Government of Karnataka will provide free of cost and cashless pre and post delivery services.
  • Beneficiary can avail cashless treatment services in any government or empaneled private medical hospital.
  • In Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme only women belongs to BPL, Schedule Caste and Schedule Category are eligible.
  • Pregnant Women and Lactating Mother can avail the following benefit under Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme :-
    • Free of Cost Delivery in Private or Government Hospital.
    • Cashless Treatment during Pre and Post Pregnancy Period.
    • Free Transportation Facility.
    • Free of Cost Checkups and Medicines.
  • This scheme will help the poor and needy women to avail the best health care at their pregnancy time.
  • Free of Cost Delivery and Treatment Services only available at empaneled private hospital.
  • Beneficiaries is not required to pay any charges from admission to discharge.
  • Benefits will only given to first two deliveries.
  • Government will pay Rs. 3,000/- per delivery to private hospital and Rs. 1,500/- per delivery to Government Hospital for treatment.
  • Cesarean, Complicated, Normal, Forceps Deliveries are covered under Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme.
  • Eligible Women can apply for this scheme through their ASHA Worker or Junior Female Health Assistant of her area.

Eligibility

  • Women Beneficiary should be a Resident of Karnataka.
  • Only Following Women are Eligible for Thayi Bhagya Scheme :-
    • Pregnant Women or Lactating Mother.
    • Women belongs to BPL Category.
    • Women belongs to Schedule Caste/ Tribe Category.

Document Required

  • Documents that are needed at the time of registration of Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme are as follows :-
    • Residence Proof of Karnataka.
    • BPL Card or Ration Card.
    • Caste Certificate.
    • Aadhar Card.
    • ANC Registration Number.
    • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

  • The only way to apply for Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme is through ASHA Worker or Junior Female Health Officer.
  • Eligible Beneficiary can meet the ASHA Worker or Junior Female Health Officer of her area to register herself.
  • ASHA Worker can fill the Karnataka Thayi Bhagya Scheme Application Form on behalf of beneficiary.
  • ASHA Worker or Junior Family Health Officer will registered the pregnant women and issue the ANC Card to her.
  • Pregnant Women can avail the benefits by showing her ANC card in the empanelled private or government hospital.
