About the Scheme
Atal Swantah Sukhay Yojana is a flagship innovation and excellence recognition programme of the General Administration Department, Government of Gujarat, designed to transform innovative ideas of government employees into impactful public service projects. The scheme encourages officers and employees to go beyond their routine duties and voluntarily develop practical, result-oriented solutions that improve governance, simplify public service delivery, increase administrative efficiency, promote the effective use of government resources, and generate measurable benefits for citizens. Rather than rewarding routine performance, the scheme recognizes initiatives that create lasting improvements in public administration and serve as replicable models for other government offices.
Introduced in its revised form from the financial year 2025–26, the scheme is open to Class I to Class IV officers and employees of Government Departments, Heads of Departments, Boards, Corporations, and the Secretariat. Participants may undertake projects individually or as a team and compete across five administrative levels - Village, Taluka, District, State, and Secretariat. Projects are evaluated through a structured multi-stage assessment conducted by designated committees, with awards presented on Good Governance Day (Sushasan Diwas) 2026. The Government has allocated ₹7 crore for the implementation of the scheme, offering cash awards ranging from ₹6,000 to ₹1,50,000, along with certificates of recognition for outstanding projects that demonstrate innovation, public impact, and administrative excellence.
