Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

  • The Government of Kerala has launched a major welfare initiative called the Sthree Suraksha Scheme, effective from 22 December 2025.
  • The scheme has been launched with the objective of providing financial support to women who are not covered under any other assistance programme of the State or Central Government.
  • The Finance Department of the Kerala Government is responsible for implementing and monitoring this scheme.
  • Under the Sthree Suraksha Scheme, eligible women beneficiaries are entitled to receive a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/-.
  • However, this benefit is not extended to all women applicants.
  • Only women aged between 35 and 60 years, who are not receiving any form of social security pension, are considered eligible.
  • Applicants must compulsorily hold either an Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card, commonly known as the Yellow Ration Card, or a Priority Household (PHH) Ration Card, popularly referred to as the Pink Ration Card.
  • Women employed under the Central Government, State Government, or any Quasi-Government institution are also excluded from eligibility under the Sthree Suraksha Pension Scheme.
  • The online application facility has been activated, and eligible women can submit their applications through the KSMART Portal starting from 22 December 2025.
  • Interested applicants are encouraged to apply and avail themselves of the Rs. 1,000 per month financial assistance provided under this scheme.

Eligibility Requirement

  • Only permanent resident women and transgender persons of Kerala are eligible to apply.
  • The applicant's age must be between 35 and 60 years
  • The applicant must possess any one of the following ration cards :-
    • Priority Household (PHH) Pink Ration Card.
    • Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Yellow Ration Card.
  • Women who are widowed, differently-abled, or unmarried and already receiving financial assistance or welfare pension from any other scheme are not eligible.
  • Female employees working under the Central Government, State Government, or any Quasi-Government institution are not eligible for benefits under the Sthree Suraksha Scheme.

Ineligibility Criteria

  • Women who are already receiving benefits under any of the following Kerala Government pension schemes are not eligible for assistance under the Sthree Suraksha Scheme :-
    • Widow's Pension.
    • Unmarried Woman's Pension.
    • Disability Pension.
    • Service Pension.
    • Family Pension.
    • Family Pension through Welfare Boards.
    • EPF Pension.
    • Any other Social Welfare Pension.

  • Female Applicant Aadhaar Card.
  • Any one document as age proof :-
    • School TC.
    • Birth Certificate.
    • Passport.
    • Driving Licence.
    • Medical AGe Certificate.
  • PHH or AAY Ration Card.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Self-Declaration Form.

Steps to Apply

  • Eligible women can submit their applications online for the Kerala Government's Sthree Suraksha Scheme.
  • The online application facility for the Sthree Suraksha Scheme is provided through the KSMART portal.
  • Applicants need to visit the portal and select the option "Apply – Citizen Login."
  • New users must create an account on the portal using their Aadhaar number or a valid email ID/ mobile number.
  • The Aadhaar number of the female applicant will be authenticated through an OTP sent by the portal.
  • After successful registration, beneficiaries can log in using their registered mobile number, email ID, or PAN.
  • Once logged in, applicants should choose the Sthree Suraksha Scheme from the left-hand menu.
  • The online application process for the Sthree Suraksha Pension Padhati consists of six stages, where all required details must be filled in carefully.
  • The six stages involved in the Sthree Suraksha Scheme application process are as follows :-
    • Aadhaar and Ration Card Information.
    • Applicant's Personal Details.
    • Employment Related Details.
    • Bank Account Information.
    • Uploading of documents. (Age Proof and Photograph)
    • Eligibility Verification.
  • After completing all sections, applicants must review the entered details in the Sthree Suraksha application form before final submission.
  • Once the form is submitted successfully, the portal will generate an acknowledgement number for future reference.
  • The submitted applications are reviewed by officials from the Local Self-Government Department, who prepare a list of eligible women beneficiaries.
  • This approved list is then forwarded to the Social Security Mission for the release of financial assistance.
  • Under the scheme, each eligible woman beneficiary receives a monthly pension of Rs. 1,000 directly into her bank account.

  • Women who are unable to apply online also have the option to submit their applications offline.
  • The offline application form for the Sthree Suraksha Pension Scheme can be obtained from the Gram Panchayat office or the respective Urban Local Body office.

  • The completed application, along with required documents, should be submitted to the same office from which the form was collected.
