Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Madhya Pradesh Ruk Jana Nahi Yojana (RJNY) is an education scheme of the Government of Madhya Pradesh that gives students who failed their Class 10 or Class 12 board exams another chance to clear them. The Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board (MPSOS) runs the scheme under the School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Students who remained unsuccessful in the High School or Higher Secondary examinations of the Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal (MP Board/MPBSE) can apply under the Ruk Jana Nahi Scheme and appear again in the subjects they failed.

The government launched this scheme because many students lose hope and drop out of education after failing one or more subjects in the board exams. As the name "Ruk Jana Nahi" (don't stop) suggests, the objective of the scheme is to keep these students in the education system and help them complete their schooling. MPSOS implements this scheme as part of its larger aim of making education accessible to students who could not continue regular school education for any reason.

The biggest benefit of RJNY is that students do not need to repeat the full class. They appear only in the subjects in which they were unsuccessful, which helps them continue their studies without losing an academic year. MPSOS issues marksheets and certificates under the scheme through its official system. The scheme does not offer any cash benefit or DBT; students only pay a subject-wise examination fee, and the board charges a lower fee to BPL card holders, SC/ST candidates, women, and persons with 40% or more disability.

The whole process for Madhya Pradesh Ruk Jana Nahi Yojana runs online through the MPSOS portal. Students start the application by entering their MPBSE Roll Number, fill in the form, upload the required documents, and pay the fee online. MPSOS conducts RJNY examinations twice a year, in June and December, and publishes admit cards and results on its official portals.

The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department also runs the Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana, under which eligible meritorious students who secure the prescribed marks in the Class 12 MP Board examination receive ₹25,000 per student to support higher education, and the Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme, which provides ₹5,000 per year to eligible single girl children in Classes 11 and 12. You can check the complete details of both schemes here.
