Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• People often experience symptoms of weakness or impending disabilities, as they age.
• Those who are financially strong can easily deal with these problems, as they have the means to purchase aids for their disabilities or weakness.
• However, there are some individuals, who are not that financially strong face significant challenges in their day to day life.
• Due to this, they are unable to live normal life in their daily routine, causing mental and other health issues.
• To address this issue and improve the life for elderly people in the state, the Maharashtra Government introduced a new scheme called "Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana".
• With this initiative, the government aims that senior citizens resume their daily life routine without facing any difficulties.
• The scheme is also known by other names, such as 'Maharashtra Vayoshri Yojana' or 'Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Scheme'.
• Under this scheme, the state government will provide a one time financial assistance of Rs 3,000/- to senior citizens.
• This assistance can be used to purchase physical aid/ devices/assistive tools, to address their disability and weakness.
• The financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana will be credited through DBT transfer.
• For this, the applicants must have a bank account linked with their Aadhaar card.
• Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana beneficiaries can also participate in yoga therapy centres, mental health centres, and mental health strengths centres registered with the state and central government.
• Beneficiaries aged 65 years or above with annual family income of less than Rs 2 lakhs are eligible for the scheme.
• However, those who have received similar benefits from other schemes in the past three years are not entitled for this scheme.
• Scheme will be implemented throughout the state under the guidance of the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department.
• Around 15 lakh beneficiaries will receive benefits from the Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana.
• For scheme implementation the government proposed a budget of Rs 480 crores.
• Applicants can submit the Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana application form through the provided means.
• A dedicated portal for Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana is also developed, where beneficiaries status and other details can be checked.
• The nodal department will verify the details and documents of the received applications.
• Beneficiaries who receive the assistance amount must produce the invoice and certificate of the purchased equipment.
• This invoice and certificate need to be produced within 30 days to the concerned Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare.
• A health camp will be organized by the public health department and a survey will be conducted under their initiative My Family, My Responsibility by visiting homes.
• With this survey, eligible beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana can be examined.

Scheme Benefits

• Under the Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana, the following benefits will be provided to its eligible beneficiaries : -

  One time financial assistance of Rs 3,000/- Yoga Therapy and mental wellness classes. This assistance can be used to purchase physical aid devices as per the disability of the beneficiaries. For Example : - Lumber belt. Cervical Collar. Hearing Aid. Glasses. Knee-brace. Tripod Stick. Folding Walker. Commode chair. Wheelchair.

Eligibility Requirement

• Applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria can avail the assistance provided under the Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana : -
  • The applicants must be permanent resident of Maharashtra.
  • The applicants should be 65 years or above (as of 31.12.2023)
  • The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 2 lakhs.
  • The applicants should not receive benefits or equipment from other schemes in the last three years.

Required Documents

• To submit applications for Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana, applicants must produce the following documents or details of it : -
  • Identity Proof [Aadhaar Card/Voter ID Card].
  • Aadhaar linked bank account passbook.
  • Passport Size photograph (2)
  • Income Certificate.
  • Disability Certificate.
  • Self Declaration Form.

Steps to Apply

• Eligible beneficiaries can apply for the Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Scheme.
• Eligible beneficiaries can collect the Mukhyamantri Vyoshree application form from the Social justice department.
• Fill the application form with the necessary details and affix all documents to it.
• After receiving application form, the respective district offices will upload the applicants details online.
• You can also check the Mukhyamantri Vyoshree Yojana beneficiaries status online.
• User can tap on the beneficiary status from the website home page.
• User can check the status through registration number or mobile number.
• After submitting the required details applicant will receive an OTP for authentication purpose.
• Enter the receive OTP in the space provided and the status of your application will appear on your screen.
