Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The HIMCARE (Mukhya Mantri Himachal Health Care) Scheme, launched on 1st January 2019 by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, is designed to ensure that families who are not covered under Ayushman Bharat can access quality healthcare without financial stress. Under this scheme, eligible families, not covered under Ayushman Bharat and government medical reimbursement schemes, street vendors, MNREGA workers, single women, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens(above 70 years), can receive cashless medical treatment up to ₹5,00,000 per year at empanelled hospitals across the state.

Families can apply easily online or at local service centers, submit the required documents, and receive a HIMCARE E-Card, which acts as proof of enrollment and simplifies access to treatment. If a family has more than five members, additional members are enrolled as separate units, with each unit capped at five members, ensuring that all eligible family members can access benefits seamlessly. This initiative provides comprehensive support for healthcare needs, making medical care accessible, affordable, and hassle-free. For assistance, beneficiaries can contact the toll-free number 1800 202 1311 or the card approvals team at 94185 93553 | 98160 06120.

Beneficiaries in Himachal Pradesh can also explore other welfare and healthcare support schemes such as the Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Bal Suposhan Yojana, which focuses on improving nutrition among children and women, and the Himachal Pradesh Nirman Shramik Chikitsa Sahayata Yojana, which provides medical assistance benefits to registered construction workers. These schemes further strengthen the state government's efforts to improve healthcare and social security for different sections of society.
