Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Rajasthan Senior Citizen Tirth Yatra Yojana is a major social welfare initiative implemented by the Devasthan Department, Government of Rajasthan for elderly citizens of the state. Through this senior citizen pilgrimage assistance scheme, the Rajasthan Government provides free religious journeys to eligible beneficiaries so that they can fulfil their spiritual aspirations without worrying about travel expenses.

Under this Rajasthan free pilgrimage scheme, selected senior citizens receive complete government support for their religious tour, including transportation, accommodation, food facilities, and other approved arrangements during the journey. The scheme has been specially designed for elderly residents who may not be financially capable of undertaking long-distance spiritual tours on their own.

The Rajasthan Government has now invited applications from eligible beneficiaries for the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Tirth Yatra Yojana 2026. As per the latest notification issued by the Devasthan Department, applicants can submit the Rajasthan Tirth Yatra Yojana application form from 27 May 2026 onwards. The application process will remain active till 10 June 2026 through the official eDevasthan portal as well as authorised e-Mitra centres located across the state. The department will select beneficiaries through a lottery system for free pilgrimage tours organised through railway and air travel facilities.

Under the latest pilgrimage programme, the state government will organise religious journeys through railway and air travel facilities for selected pilgrims. Senior citizens selected under the scheme will travel in organised groups, and departmental officials will accompany them to provide assistance, coordination, and support during the complete journey.

Every year, nearly 40,000 beneficiaries are selected under the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Tirth Yatra Yojana through a lottery-based selection process. Out of the total selected pilgrims, most beneficiaries travel through railway routes, while a limited number of pilgrims are selected for air travel pilgrimage facilities. However, this year the authority will select around 56,000 beneficiaries.

Applicants applying for the Rajasthan pilgrimage tour scheme must be permanent residents of Rajasthan, should be above 60 years of age, should not be income taxpayers, and must be physically and mentally fit for the journey. Beneficiaries who have already availed benefits under the scheme earlier may not be eligible again, as per departmental guidelines.

The primary objective of the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Religious Tour Scheme is to provide elderly citizens an opportunity to undertake at least one spiritual pilgrimage during their lifetime with complete financial support from the state government. Eligible applicants can submit the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Tirth Yatra Yojana application form online through the official portal or by visiting their nearest e-Mitra centre.

The Devasthan Department, Government of Rajasthan, has announced the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Tirth Yatra Yojana Lottery Result 2026. Beneficiaries have been selected through a computerised lottery process from the applications received during the application period. Selected applicants will be able to undertake the free pilgrimage through railway or air travel, depending on the pilgrimage route and category allotted by the department.

Applicants can now check their selection status through the official Rajasthan Devasthan Department portal by entering their Application Number or Jan Aadhaar ID. The department will also publish the journey schedule, reporting dates, and other important instructions for selected pilgrims on the official portal before the commencement of the pilgrimage tours.

Under the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Tirth Yatra Yojana, the Devasthan Department organises free pilgrimage tours for selected senior citizens to several famous religious destinations located across India and selected international pilgrimage sites. The Rajasthan Government arranges railway and air travel facilities for beneficiaries along with accommodation, food, and other required travel support during the complete journey.

The pilgrimage destinations covered under the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Religious Tour Scheme include important Hindu, Jain, Sikh, and Christian religious places so that beneficiaries from different communities can avail the benefits of the scheme. Pilgrims selected under the scheme travel in organised groups under departmental supervision for safe and comfortable pilgrimage tours.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
• Applicant should be a senior citizen.
• The minimum age of the applicant should be 60 years. (as on 1 April 2026).
• Applicant should not be an income taxpayer.
• Applicant should be physically and mentally fit for travelling.
• Applicant should not be suffering from any infectious disease.
• Applicants who have already availed benefits under the Rajasthan Senior Citizen Tirth Yatra Yojana earlier will not be eligible again.
• Applicants and their companions/assistants must submit a self-declaration regarding physical and mental fitness for the pilgrimage journey.
• A medical fitness certificate issued by an authorised medical officer must be uploaded along with the application form.
• Government employees, retired employees of State Government, Central Government, Autonomous Bodies, Boards, Corporations, and Local Bodies are not eligible under the scheme.
• Applicants between 60 years and 80 years of age are eligible for air travel pilgrimage facilities.
• Beneficiaries above 80 years of age are not eligible for air travel pilgrimage facilities, and they must travel with an assistant during railway pilgrimage.
• Applicants wishing to travel with companion/assistant must mention companion details in the application form.
• If husband and wife both apply together, separate application forms will be required.
• During railway pilgrimage, husband and wife cannot take an assistant together.
• The minimum age of assistant should be 21 years and the maximum age should be 50 years.
• The assistant accompanying the beneficiary must be physically healthy and fit for the pilgrimage journey.
