Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Kaushal Prashikshan Evam Rozgar Kshetra Vikas Yojana is a new skill training and employment scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government. It aims to provide industry-oriented skill training and improve employment opportunities for youth across Uttar Pradesh. The state government has announced plans to launch the scheme on 31 October 2026, with an initial focus on establishing skill training and employment centres in five cities.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, Uttar Pradesh, has prepared the scheme. It plans to cover all 75 districts by organising them into nine zones. The initiative aims to align skill training with local industries, market demand and employment opportunities so that young people can develop skills that meet employers' requirements.

Under the proposed programme, candidates with ITI, polytechnic and engineering qualifications may receive technical skill training and upgradation. The scheme also plans to provide basic skill training to youth from non-technical backgrounds, including humanities and commerce, along with Indian and foreign language training based on job requirements. Young people who want to start their own businesses instead of seeking jobs can also explore the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yuva Udhyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM-YUVA).

The proposed skill training centres will include hostel facilities, employment offices and placement cells. The government also plans to connect trained candidates with recognised placement agencies and employment opportunities in India and abroad. Digital dashboards, data analytics and artificial intelligence-based tools will help monitor training activities and employment outcomes.

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Kaushal Prashikshan Evam Rozgar Kshetra Vikas Yojana will be launched in phases. The first-phase centres are planned for Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) and Jhansi. The scheme is intended for youth seeking skill development and employment opportunities. However, the government has not yet confirmed the detailed eligibility criteria, required documents, individual application procedure or any fixed financial assistance through publicly verified scheme guidelines.

Interested candidates should visit the Uttar Pradesh MSME Department website for updates on the scheme, registration announcements and official implementation guidelines.
