Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
The Nethanna Sevalo Scheme is a welfare initiative approved by the Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet to provide financial support to poor handloom weaver families across the state. Under the scheme, every eligible active Below Poverty Line (BPL) handloom weaver family will receive ₹25,000 annually to strengthen their livelihood and support their traditional weaving profession. During earlier government announcements and budget discussions, the initiative was referred to as the Nethanna Bharosa Scheme. However, the Cabinet has now approved it under the name Nethanna Sevalo Scheme. The Andhra Pradesh Government has announced that the scheme will be formally launched on 7 August 2026, coinciding with the celebration of National Handloom Day.
The scheme succeeds the previous YSR Nethanna Nestham Scheme, under which eligible handloom weaver families received ₹24,000 per year as financial assistance. Under the new Nethanna Sevalo Scheme, the annual assistance has been increased to ₹25,000. The Cabinet has also announced that there will be no age restriction and no limit on the number of handlooms owned by eligible beneficiaries, enabling more active weaver families to receive assistance.
According to the Cabinet announcement, the annual financial assistance can be used by active handloom weavers to purchase yarn, dyes, chemicals, and other raw materials required for weaving. Beneficiaries can also use the amount to repair and maintain their handlooms, helping reduce production costs and continue their traditional occupation. The scheme is expected to benefit around 51,952 active BPL handloom weaver families across Andhra Pradesh.
The Andhra Pradesh Government launched the Nethanna Sevalo Scheme on 7 August 2026 on the occasion of National Handloom Day. Eligible applicants were required to submit their applications by 5:00 PM on 5 August 2026. Under the scheme, 71,536 handloom weaver families have received ₹25,000 each as financial assistance. The Nethanna Sevalo Scheme beneficiary list will be displayed at the nearest Grama Sachivalayam / Ward Sachivalayam, allowing eligible applicants to check their names and benefit status.

We are eligible for the Nethanna Sevalo Scheme, and our name is included in the beneficiary list. However, the application shows an income-tax-related issue, stating that someone in the family is paying income tax. We have not paid any income tax and have the necessary documents to prove this.
We raised a grievance regarding this issue, and the grievance was approved by the Joint Collector (JC). However, we have still not received the scheme amount.
Therefore, I kindly request you to check the reason why the amount has not been credited and take the necessary action to release the eligible amount.
