Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The Assam Government launched one of its most ambitious education-focused welfare initiatives on 28 November 2025.
• This initiative, known as the Prerana Scheme, aims to empower Class 10 students academically and financially.
• The core purpose of the scheme is to help students meet the cost of essential study materials, books, and exam preparation resources.
• Through this support, the government aims to reduce dropout rates and raise the overall pass percentage in the Class 10 board examinations.
• The Department of Education, Government of Assam, is responsible for implementing and monitoring the scheme across the state.
• Students currently enrolled in Class 10th and preparing for their board exams qualify for the monthly stipend under the Prerana Scheme.
• Every eligible student receives Rs. 300 per month for six months, transferred directly to their bank account.
• Over the full duration, each Class 10 student appearing for ASSEB or CBSE (Adarsha Vidyalaya only) board exams receives Rs. 1,800 as financial support to strengthen their exam readiness.
• The state government expects nearly 4.4 lakh students to benefit from this monthly stipend under the Prerana Asoni Scheme.
• Students can claim this benefit by submitting the official application form, which is available at their respective schools.
• Principals and Headmasters are available to guide students who need help or clarification regarding the Prerana Asoni Scheme.
• Eligible students may also apply for additional state initiatives such as the Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme and the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme for further educational support.

Scheme Benefits

• Class 10th students will receive monthly financial support for the preparation of their board examinations.
• Each eligible student gets Rs. 300 every month as assistance.
• This monthly support continues for a period of six months.
• In total, a student receives Rs. 1,800 under the Prerona Asoni Scheme.

Eligibility Requirement

• Only students who hold permanent residency in Assam can apply for the scheme.
• The student must be enrolled in Class 10 and actively preparing for the upcoming board examinations.
• The Class 10 board should be either ASSEB or CBSE, specifically from an Adarsh Vidyalaya.

Steps to Apply

• Class 10 students submit their Prerana Scheme applications through their respective schools.
• Each school provides the official application form prescribed for the Prerana Scheme.
• Students collect the form and fill in every detail with accuracy and care.
• They attach all supporting documents required for the scheme.
• Once completed, students hand over the form and documents to their school.
• The Headmaster or Principal reviews the application and confirms the information.
• After verification, the school authorities upload the student's data on the designated portal.
• Officials from the Department of Education examine the applications submitted online.
• Students who qualify under the Prerana Asoni Scheme receive Rs. 300/- per month directly in their bank accounts.
• To remain eligible, every beneficiary must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in school.
