Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• On 3 November 2025, Chief Minister of Assam Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma introduced a major educational support programme called the "Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme" in Dispur.
• The name combines two words - "Jibon" meaning life and "Prerana" meaning motivation.
• The programme aims to ease the financial stress that fresh graduates face while searching for jobs.
• The Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme offers financial stability so students can focus on their job hunt without worrying about daily expenses.
• The government clarified that this is not an unemployment allowance but a motivational support scheme that helps graduates who are preparing for exams, interviews, and entrepreneurship.
• Students who completed their graduation in 2025 from any state or central institution in Assam can receive monthly support under the CM Jibon Prerona Scheme of the Assam Government.
• Each and every eligible graduate will receive Rs. 2,500 per month under the scheme.
• The benefit applies only to 2025 graduates from government colleges or universities located within Assam.
• Research scholars enrolled in state or central universities will also receive a one-time grant of Rs. 25,000 under the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme.
• Whereas, the Divyang research scholars will get an enhanced grant of Rs. 50,000 under the Jibon Anurperana Scheme.
• Students who have already received the benefits of Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme cannot apply for Jibon Prerana benefits.
• The Assam Government set aside Rs. 25 crore to run the scheme effectively in the State.
• The online form is now active, and the last date to apply is 30 November 2025.
• Students must submit their application through the Assam Government's DDIS Portal.

Scheme Benefits

• Monthly Scholarship by the Assam Government to Eligible Students.
• Each year, students will receive Rs. 30,000/- for their education.
• Amount of Assistance will be provided as Rs. 2,500/- per Month directly in the bank account of student.

Eligibility Requirement

• Beneficiary Student should be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
• The student should have passed Graduation in the year 2025.
• Graduation should have been done from a Central or State Government College within Assam.
• The student's Family Annual Income should be less than Rs. 10 Lakh per year.
• Beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme are not eligible to apply.

Steps to Apply

• Students graduated in the year 2025 can apply online for the Jibon Prerana Scheme and receive Rs. 2,500 every month for one year.
• The Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme Online Application Form is available on the Assam Government's Digital Infrastructure for DBT Schemes (DIDS) Portal.
• Students must visit the DIDS Portal and register themselves by using their mobile number.
• Mobile Number of the Student will be verified by the portal through OTP.
• Enter your details in the registration form and complete the sign-up process.
• Log in using your registered mobile number and password or choose the OTP login option.
• Find the Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme on the dashboard and open it.
• A short eligibility survey will appear; fill it out to confirm your eligibility.
• After that, the main application form will open, and you must enter the required details step by step :-
  • Your personal information.
  • Your contact details.
  • Your graduation details.
  • Your college or university details.
• Upload the documents requested by the portal.
• Review your form and click submit to complete your application.
• Your college or university checks the information you submitted and verifies it.
• Colleges forward the details of eligible students to the concerned department for funding processing.
• Department officials verify the eligibility again before releasing the assistance under the Assam Government's CM Jibon Prerana Scheme.
• The department sends Rs. 2,500/- per month for one year directly to the selected students' bank accounts.
• Students can check their CM Jibon Prerana Scheme Application Status anytime by logging into the DIDS Portal.
