Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Rajasthan Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme provides free healthcare coverage to eligible residents across Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Government, through the Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, launched this scheme on 01-05-2021. It was previously known as the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme and was renamed in 2024.

The scheme offers free medical treatment up to Rs. 25,00,000 per family annually. This coverage amount was initially set at Rs. 5,00,000, increased to Rs. 10,00,000 on 01-05-2022, and further enhanced to Rs. 25,00,000 on 10-02-2023. Beneficiaries receive treatment across 778 State Government Hospitals, 8 Central Government Hospitals, and 521 empanelled Private Hospitals throughout Rajasthan, plus selected facilities in Delhi and Kolkata.

Mukhya Mantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MAA- Yojana) covers hospitalisation, surgeries, medicines, and diagnostic tests. It also includes coverage for 5 days before admission and 15 days after discharge, plus free OPD services and accidental insurance of Rs. 10,00,000. There is no age limit for beneficiaries, and all family members are eligible.

Families already registered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011, small and marginal farmers, contractual state employees, and COVID-19 ex-gratia recipients receive free enrollment. Other families can register by paying Rs. 850 annually, with the government subsidizing 50% of the premium. To register, visit the Rajasthan SSO Portal or the official scheme website. To facilitate registration in the scheme and provide other related information, the government has also developed a mobile application called the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme – Maa Yojana Mobile App. Through this mobile app, you can easily access information about the scheme.

The government is also running another scheme in the state under the name “Chiranjeevi,” called the "Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Jeevan Raksha Yojana". Under this scheme, the government provides an incentive amount of ₹5,000 to a person who helps someone injured in an accident.

Scheme Benefits

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a Permanent Resident of Rajasthan.
• Should not be a Government Employee.
• Free of Cost Registration in Scheme for the following Families :-
  • Families Registered in NFSA.
  • Families Registered in SECC 2011.
  • Small and Marginal Farmers.
  • Contractual Employee of the State Government.
  • Covid 19 Ex Gratia Recipient.
• Any Family other than the Free Category can also avail the benefit by paying a premium of Rs. 850/-.

Beneficiary Category

• The government of Rajasthan divides the people of Rajasthan into two categories under the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme.
• Registration of First Category people is free of cost; they don't need to pay any premium amount.
• But Second Category People have to pay half the amount of the premium of Rs. 850/- per year for registration under the Ayushman Arogya Scheme.
• Other Half Amount of the premium will be paid by the Rajasthan Government.

• Below mentioned are the categories of beneficiaries who are eligible for free and paid premiums under the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme of the Rajasthan Government :-

  Free Premium Beneficiary	Families Covered under the National Food Security Act. Families Covered under the SECC 2011 List. State Government Contractual Employee. Small and Marginal Farmers. Recipients of Covid-19 Ex-gratia.
  850/- Premium Paid Beneficiary	Anyone who is not covered under Free Category.

Medical Facilities under the Scheme

• The following medical facilities will be provided free of cost to all the eligible beneficiaries under the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme :-

Required Documents

• The following documents are needed at the time of registration as well as at the time of availing the benefit of the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme in hospital :-
  • Jan Aadhar Card.
  • Receipt of Jan Aadhar Card.
  • Aadhar Card.

Steps To Apply

• Visit the Rajasthan SSO Portal and register using Aadhaar, mobile number, or email ID.
• Verify your identity through OTP sent to your phone or email.
• Log in to your SSO account with your credentials.
• From the dashboard, click "Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme" or "Chiranjeevi Yojana."
• Select "New Registration" to begin your application.
• Enter the family head's details: name, date of birth, gender, and mobile number.
• Add all family members (spouse, children, parents) with their names and dates of birth.
• Provide your complete residential address in Rajasthan (district, tehsil, village, postal code).
• Upload clear digital copies of the Aadhaar card and the ration card in JPEG or PDF format (under 5 MB each).
• Select your eligibility category: NFSA, SECC 2011, farmer, contractual employee, ex-gratia, or general.
• For the general category, confirm Rs. 850/- annual premium payment.
• Review all information for accuracy and click submit.
• Save your application reference number for tracking status.
• Log in to the SSO portal and check "Application Status" using your reference number.
• You'll receive an SMS notification once your application is approved.
• Download your digital health card from the portal after approval.
• Physical cards arrive by post within 7-10 days; verify all details.
• Visit any empanelled hospital and activate your card at the registration desk.
• Present your health card for treatment at any empanelled hospital.
• No upfront payment required; the hospital handles all claims directly with the scheme.
• Apart from the Rajasthan SSO Portal, Beneficiaries can also register themselves under the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme by visiting E-Mitra Kendra.

How to take the scheme benefit?

• The beneficiary can avail the benefit of free medical treatment up to 25 Lakh under the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme by visiting any government or private empanelled hospital.
• Any of the documents mentioned below is mandatorily needed at the time of visiting the hospital :-
  • Jan Aadhar Card or Bhamashah Card or Card Number or Receipt of Jan Aadhar.
  • Aadhar Card. (Which is Linked with the Jan Aadhar Card)
  • Ayushman Arogya Scheme Policy Documents.
• Health Guides present at the hospital will help the patient with the OPD and admission process.
• Biometric Verification of the patient will also be done by Health Guides.
• TID package will be booked according to the disease of the patient, and immediate treatment will be started after that.
• The claim under the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme will be sent to the Insurance Company once the treatment of the patient is completed.
• Health Guides will take a live photo of the patient at the time of admission and discharge from the hospital.
