Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
The Lakshmi Yojana is a women's welfare scheme launched by the Delhi Government to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible women from economically weaker families in Delhi. Eligible beneficiaries receive Rs. 2,500 every month, amounting to Rs. 30,000 in a year, credited directly to their bank account through DBT. Following the launch of the Pink Saheli Smart Card Yojana, the Lakshmi Yojana has become one of the most awaited women's welfare schemes in Delhi.
The Delhi Government initially announced this scheme as the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana before implementing it under the new name, Lakshmi Yojana. The scheme targets women between 21 and 60 years of age from families with an annual income of up to Rs. 2.5 lakh. Applicants must also hold a registered Delhi voter ID and satisfy the other prescribed conditions.
The government has excluded certain categories of women from the scheme, including those receiving a government pension, income tax payees, GST filers, and families owning a four-wheeler motor vehicle. These exclusions ensure that the assistance reaches genuinely deserving women. The complete eligibility conditions, exclusion criteria, and required documents appear below in this article.
The Delhi Government has officially launched the Lakshmi Yojana Portal for beneficiary registration. Eligible women can now visit the official portal, register using their Aadhaar details, and submit the online application along with the prescribed documents for verification.
After departmental verification, eligible beneficiaries are entitled to receive monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500. While submitting the online application, applicants must select one of the available payment options on the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal. They may choose to receive Rs. 1,500 in an RD/FD account and Rs. 1,000 every month through a CBDC Wallet, or receive the entire Rs. 2,500 through an RD/FD account. The Delhi Government has now announced that official sanction letters will be distributed from 26 August 2026, while monthly payouts under the scheme will start from 1 September 2026. The latest update also states that the scheme has crossed 8 lakh registrations.
While submitting the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana online application, applicants must upload the prescribed documents, including the Aadhaar Card, Delhi Voter ID Card, a recommendation letter from the concerned MP or MLA, and supporting documents for age and residence proof. The portal also states that the CBDC Wallet amount cannot be used to purchase prohibited items. In case of any help or assistance required regarding Lakshmi Yojana, beneficiary women can contact the District Women and Child Development Department.

Latest Update
The Delhi Government has announced that the first installment of Delhi Lakshmi Yojana will be credited from 1 September 2026.
