Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
The Maharashtra Government has started the application process for the prestigious Chief Minister Fellowship Program 2026 to connect talented and educated youth with the administrative system of the state. Nature of Work Under Fellowship
- Fellows will be placed in the offices of District Collectors and Chief Executive Officers.

- Monthly reports and quarterly work plans will have to be submitted by fellows.

Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant should be a citizen of India.
- Maharashtra domicile candidates may get preference in case of a tie in the final merit.
- The age of the applicant should be between 21 years and 26 years as on 8th May 2026.
- Candidates born between 08-05-2000 and 08-05-2005 are eligible.
- Applicant should have passed graduation in any discipline with a minimum 60% marks.
- Applicant should possess a minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience.
- Full-time internship, apprenticeship, articleship, self-employment and entrepreneurship experience will also be considered.
- Applicant should be able to read, write and speak Marathi.
- Knowledge of Hindi, English, the internet and computer handling is required.
Selection Process
- The selection of fellows under the Maharashtra Chief Minister Fellowship Program will be completed in two stages.
- Stage 1 includes an online objective test and an essay writing examination.
- The top 210 candidates with the highest marks in the objective test will be shortlisted for the next stage.
- Essays of shortlisted candidates will be evaluated before the interview stage.
- Stage 2 consists of a personal interview with the shortlisted candidates.
- The final merit list will be prepared using online test marks, essay assessment, and interview performance.
- Final selection of 60 fellows will be completed on a merit basis.
