Scheme Introduction : A Broad Overview

• While presenting the budget of 2024-2025, Finance Minister of Gujarat Sh. Kanubhai Desai announced 3 new welfare schemes for the welfare of people.
• One of the scheme which is going to be started specifically for Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers is "Namo Shree Yojana".
• The main objective of Gujarat Government behind launching Namo Shree Yojana is to provide appropriate and adequate nutrition to pregnant women and lactating mother and also to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate.
• After the implementation, this scheme is going to be known by some other names also which are mentioned below :-
  • "Namo Shree Scheme".
  • "Namo Shri Yojana".
  • "Namo Shri Scheme".
  • "નમો શ્રી યોજના".
• The other objective of starting Namo Shree Yojana is to encourage pregnant women for insitutional delivery.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 12,000/- will be provided to Pregnant and Lactating Mother of Gujarat State under Namo Shree Yojana.
• Financial Assistance in Namo Shree Yojana will be provided in instalments from first anti natal check up to till delivering the child in any government or private hospital.
• Under Namo Shree Yojana, it is mandatory for a pregnant women to deliver her child in any Government or Private Hospital.
• Women Beneficiaries of 11 category as prescribed by Government of India are eligible to apply for financial assistance as promised by Gujarat Government under Namo Shree Yojana.
• Women Beneficiaries who falls within any of the below mentioned category can apply for Namo Shree Yojana and avail the benefit of Rs. 12,000/- :-
  • Schedule Tribe. (ST)
  • Schedule Caste. (SC)
  • PMJAY Beneficiary.
  • National Food Security Act Beneficiary. (NFSA)
  • Below Poverty Line. (BPL)
  • MGNREGA Job Card Holder.
  • E Shram Card Holder.
  • Disabled Women.
  • Women Farmers.
  • Women whose annual family income is not more than Rs. 8 lakh per year.
• Gujarat Government alot a whooping budget of Rs. 750/- Crore for the smooth implementation of Namo Shree Yojana.
• It is to be expected that more than 6 lakh women will get benefit from this scheme.
• Apart from that beneficiary women of Gujarat can also apply for assistance under Central Government's Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Janani Suraksha Yojana.
• Namo Shree Yojana Application Forms is easily available at any Anganwadi Centre for free of cost.
• In case of any complaint or help required, women beneficiary can contact their area's Anganwadi Sewika.
• It is hereby reiterated that no Online Application or Official Website of Namo Shree Yojana of Government of Gujarat is available at present.

Scheme Benefits

• Government of Gujarat will provide the following financial assistance to pregnant women and lactating mothers of state under its newly announced Namo Shree Yojana :-
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 12,000/- will be provided to Pregnant and Lactating Mother.
  • Rs. 12,000/- Financial Assistance will be provided in steps from conceiving pregnancy to delivering child.

Eligibility Requirements

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 12,000/- under Namo Shree Yojana will be provided to only those women beneficiaries who fulfil the following eligibility conditions of scheme :-

  Beneficiary Women should be a Permanent Resident of Gujarat. Beneficiary Women should be a Pregnant Women or Lactating Mother. It is mandatory for a Women to Deliver her Child in any Government or Private Hospital. Beneficiary Women should be belong to any of the below mentioned category :- Schedule Caste. Schedule Tribe. Below Poverty Line. (BPL) National Food Security Act. (NFSA) PMJAY Beneficiary. Handicapped Women. E Shram Card Holder Women. MGNREGA Job Card Holder. Women Farmers. Women whose family income is less than Rs. 8 lakh per year.

• The below mentioned documents is required at the time of applying for financial assistance under Namo Shree Yojana of Gujarat Government :-
  • Domicile of Gujarat.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Medical Certificate of Institutional Delivery.

Steps to Apply

• Eligible Women Beneficiary can apply for Namo Shree Yojana through by filling Application Form.
• Application Form of Namo Shree Yojana is available free of cost at Anganwadi Centre or Gram Sabha/ Gram Panchayat Office.
• Take the application form and fill the asked details correctly.
• Attach all the required documents with the application form.
• Now, submit namo shree application form along with all the documents in the same office from where it was collected.
• Concerned officials will verify the received application form and documents.
• List of Women Beneficiaries of Namo Shree Scheme will be made by the officials then.
• Selected Women will be informed on their registered mobile number through SMS.
• Financial Assistance under Namo Shree Yojana will then transferred in the bank account of beneficiary in phased manner.
• Application Status and Payment Status of Namo Shree Yojana can be checked by contacting the Anganwadi Sevika in Anganwadi Centre.
