Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Irrespective of religion, it is everyone's dream to visit a pilgrimage or holy places once in their lifetime.
• Senior Citizen often have this desire more than others.
• Most of them are unable to fulfil their desire because of their poor financial conditions to bear the expenses incurred during pilgrimage.
• To address this issue, the Haryana Government took a bold step to fulfil the wishes of old age people of the state.
• Home Minister of India Sh. Amit Shah and Chief Minister of Haryana Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar announced to start "Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana" while addressing a rally in Karnal.
• The main objective behind starting this scheme is to provide assistance to senior citizens in Haryana, enabling them to visit the pilgrimage site of their choice.
• This scheme is going to be known by other names such as :- "Haryana Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana" or "Haryana Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Scheme" or "Haryana Chief Minister Free Pilgrimage Scheme" or "Haryana Chief Minister Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana".
• Under the scheme, senior citizens of Haryana aged 60 years or above can visit the pilgrimage of their choice free of cost.
• All Expenses incurred on Fooding and Lodging and on travelling will be borne by Government of Haryana under Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana.
• For travelling, the Government will provide 3rd AC rail tickets to each pilgrimage site.
• Beneficiaries above 80 years are allowed to accompany one assistant during the journey.
• Applicants need to pay the 50% travel expense of the assistant which can be paid online or availed through nearest Saral centers in cash.
• If applicants registered for the pilgrimage but didn't use the facility, it will be assumed that they have avail the scheme benefits.
• Beneficiaries can avail scheme benefits only once every three years.
• Only those beneficiaries are eligible to apply for Haryana Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana whose annual family income is not more than Rs. 1,80,000/- per year.
• Currently, the beneficiary can do a pilgrimage to a limited number of places, whose details are shared below : -
  • Ayodhya
  • Varanasi.
  • Nanded Sahib.
  • Patna Sahib.
  • Ajmer Sharif.
• Pilgrimage to these religious sites will be provided at different times.
• Eligible beneficiaries must submit their applications before the deadline, as benefits will be provided on a "First Come, First Served" basis.
• Currently, the government is facilitating free pilgrimage to Takht Sachkhand Shr Hajur Sahib Nanded.
• For this, the chief minister will flag off a special train from Kurukshetra on May 5, 2026.
• To participate in this pilgrimage, eligible beneficiaries must submit their applications online before 15 April 2026.
• Travellers also need to visit the DIPRO office before 16 April 2026.
• Applicants who are eligible for the scheme can submit their application online through the Haryana Saral Portal.
• The Haryana Government will bear all expenses during the journey.

• Selected Beneficiaries will get the below mentioned benefits under Haryana Government's Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana :-
  • Free of Cost Pilgrimage.
  • Rail tickets for 3 AC will be provided.
  • Pilgrimage Expenses borne by the Haryana Government.
  • People of all religions are eligible.
  • Free Pilgrimage facility will be provided once in every three years.

Eligibility Requirements

• Haryana Government sets the following Eligibility Conditions for those Beneficiaries who are willing to visit the Pilgrimage Place Free of Cost under Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana :-
  • The beneficiary should be a Resident of Haryana.
  • The beneficiary's age should be more than 60 Years.
  • The Annual Income of Beneficiary should be less than Rs. 1,80,000/-.
  • BPL Category people are also Eligible.
  • Beneficiaries can avail scheme benefits once every three years.

Required Documents

• The documents mentioned below are to be needed at the time of availing the benefit of a free pilgrimage visit under Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana of the Government of Haryana :-
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Parivar Pehchan Patra. (PPP)
  • Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Mobile Number.
  • Pilgrimage Site Information.
  • Train Ticket Information.
  • Attendant Identity Proof (If any)

Steps to Apply

• Eligible applicants can apply for the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana Online or through the nearest Saral Kendra.
• To apply, visit the Haryana Saral Official Portal.
• Already registered users need to log in with their details, or they need to first register on the portal.
• For registration, applicants need to tap on the 'Register here' tab.
  
• In the registration form, share the following details : -
  • Name
  • Email ID.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Password.
  • State name.
    
• Applicants will receive a confirmation email with OTP via SMS and Email.
• After confirming that the same registration process has been completed.
• Now applicants need to log in with their Email ID and Password.
  
• After login, select the 'Apply for Services' from the dashboard.
  
• Select 'View all available services'.
  
• A list of schemes will appear on the dashboard.
• Now search "Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana" from the list.
  
• Scheme application form will appear on the screen.
  
• Fill the application form and complete the process.
• After form submission, applicants will receive confirmation through SMS and Email.
