Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana on 17 September 2023 with the objective of strengthening traditional artisans and craftsmen across the country.
• The scheme focuses on empowering karigars and shilpkars by providing skill training, a daily stipend during training, Rs. 15,000 assistance for toolkits, collateral-free loans, interest subsidy, and several other livelihood-oriented benefits.
• Taking inspiration from this central initiative and with the intent to offer additional support at the state level, the Haryana Government introduced the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana.
• Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini launched this scheme on the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti on 17th September 2025.
• The primary objective of this initiative is to provide extra financial assistance to all registered traditional artisans and craftsmen of Haryana who are associated with the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
• According to the Haryana Government, 41,366 artisans and craftsmen in Haryana have registered under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
• Out of these, 30,655 beneficiaries have completed skill training, while 12,000 artisans and craftsmen have already received Rs. 15,000 each for purchasing toolkits.
• Under the same central scheme, the government has also disbursed Rs. 56 crore in collateral-free loans to around 6,000 beneficiaries in Haryana, helping them expand their traditional occupations.
• To further strengthen this support system, the Haryana Government has decided to provide an additional top-up assistance of Rs. 5,000 under the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana.
• All artisans and craftsmen of Haryana who are registered and undergoing skill training under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana will receive this amount.
• The government will transfer the Rs. 5,000 financial assistance directly into the beneficiary's bank account, ensuring quick and transparent delivery of benefits.
• Eligible beneficiaries do not need to apply separately for the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana.
• The Haryana Government will automatically credit the amount to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of all qualifying artisans and craftsmen.

Scheme Benefits

• The Haryana Government will extend additional top-up financial support to craftsmen and traditional artisans under this scheme.
• All eligible and registered artisans and craftsmen of Haryana will receive a one-time assistance of Rs. 5,000/- directly in their bank account.

Eligibility Requirement

• Only permanent residents of Haryana can avail benefits under this scheme.
• The applicant must work as a traditional artisan or craftsman.
• The applicant should be 18 years of age or older at the time of application.
• In addition, the beneficiary must hold a valid registration under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana and actively participate in the skill training provided under that scheme.

Steps to Apply

• The Chief Minister of Haryana introduced the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana in the state on the occasion of Shri Vishwakarma Jayanti.
• Under this scheme, the government provides a one-time top-up of Rs. 5,000 directly to the bank accounts of registered traditional artisans and craftsmen.
• The government has not released any separate or detailed information regarding an application process for this scheme.
• Based on available information, all artisans and craftsmen who are already registered under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana qualify automatically for the Rs. 5,000 financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana of the Haryana Government.
• They do not need to submit any separate application.
• The Haryana Government already maintains complete records of beneficiaries who have registered and are currently receiving training under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
• Using this existing data, the state government credited Rs. 5,000 directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries, fulfilling the commitment made under the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana.
