Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
- The Madhya Pradesh government launched the Mukhyamantri Dairy Plus Yojana on 29 September 2022.

- The Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government is responsible for implementing this scheme.
- Under this initiative, livestock farmers are provided financial assistance in the form of a subsidy for purchasing two Murrah breed buffaloes.
- The government has classified beneficiaries into two groups to determine the subsidy percentage.
- Applicants from the General and OBC categories are eligible for a subsidy of 50% on the cost of two Murrah buffaloes, while the remaining amount must be paid by the beneficiary.
- The estimated cost of purchasing two Murrah buffaloes is approximately Rs. 2,95,000, which means the beneficiary's share comes to around Rs. 1,47,500.
- Applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories are entitled to a higher subsidy of 75%.
- In this case, SC and ST beneficiaries are required to contribute only 25% of the total cost, which is roughly Rs. 73,700.
- The subsidy under the Mukhyamantri Dairy Plus Yojana is applicable exclusively for the purchase of Murrah breed buffaloes.
- At present, there is no online application facility or dedicated official website available for this scheme.
- Interested applicants must obtain the application form from the office of the Veterinary Officer or the In-charge of the Veterinary Hospital.
- Once approved, the subsidy amount is transferred directly into the beneficiary's registered bank account.
- For any guidance or assistance related to the scheme, applicants can approach their local Gram Sabha office.
- Eligible beneficiaries may also consider applying for the "Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana", which offers financial support for establishing a dairy farm.
