Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Persons with disabilities often face physical, social, and financial challenges that make it difficult to earn a regular livelihood and meet their daily expenses independently. To provide financial support to such individuals and help them live with dignity, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Uttar Pradesh, implements the Uttar Pradesh Divyang Bharan-Poshan Anudan Yojana, commonly known as the Uttar Pradesh Divyang Pension Yojana.

Under this scheme, eligible persons with disabilities receive a monthly pension of ₹1,000 to help meet their basic needs. The scheme is intended for eligible residents of Uttar Pradesh who meet the prescribed disability, age, and income criteria. Applications are submitted online through the Integrated Social Pension Portal (SSPY), and after successful verification by the concerned authorities, the pension amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account.
