The scholarship is specifically meant for students who are not receiving any other scholarship or financial assistance from another government scholarship scheme, thereby ensuring that economically disadvantaged students who otherwise remain unsupported can continue their education.

• Students already receiving another government scholarship are generally not eligible for this scheme.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• Must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh.
• Must belong to a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family possessing a valid BPL card.
• Must be studying in a Government College under the Department of Higher Education, Chhattisgarh.
• Must be enrolled in a regular Undergraduate or Postgraduate course.

Steps to Apply

• Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at https://scholarships.gov.in.
• If you are a new user, go to the Students menu icon → Apply for OTR, complete the eKYC process using your registered mobile number, and obtain your Student Registration ID (OTR ID).
• Then return to the homepage and click Students → Apply for Scholarship.
• Here, log in using Aadhaar, APAAR, or OTR ID, complete the OTP verification, and access the application form.
• Fill in the required personal, academic, and bank details, then upload the necessary documents.
• Review all the information carefully and click Final Submit to complete your application.
• After successful submission, note down or download the Application/Registration Number for future reference and application status tracking.

Selection Process

• The application for Chhattisgarh BPL Chhatr Kalyan Scholarship Scheme is verified at two levels:
  • Institute Verification: The student's college verifies the application and supporting documents.
  • State Government Verification: The concerned office of the Government of Chhattisgarh conducts the final verification.
• Applicants are required to submit all prescribed documents to their respective institute for verification.
• An application that the institute does not verify, the State Government office, or both is treated as invalid and is not considered for scholarship benefits.

The scholarship is disbursed through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. After the application is successfully verified and approved, the scholarship amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-seeded bank account. Therefore, students must ensure that their Aadhaar number is linked with their bank account to receive the scholarship without any payment issues.
