Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Chhattisgarh Mahtari Vandan Scheme is a flagship welfare initiative of the Government of Chhattisgarh designed to strengthen the financial security of married women across the state. The scheme is implemented by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1,000 per month, which amounts to ₹12,000 annually. The financial assistance is transferred directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked Bank Account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparent and timely payments.

The scheme primarily benefits eligible married women, including certain other categories of women as notified by the Government, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions. By providing regular financial assistance, the scheme aims to improve women's economic independence, support household expenses, and contribute to the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of women and their families. Mahtari Vandan Scheme 32nd Installment Date

The Government of Chhattisgarh has released the 32nd installment of the Mahtari Vandan Scheme on 8 October 2026. Under this installment, ₹632 crore 40 lakh 04 thousand 250 has been transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to 67 lakh 38 thousand 217 eligible women beneficiaries who have completed their e-KYC.

For the October 2026 installment, a total of 68 lakh 52 thousand 661 beneficiaries are currently eligible under the scheme. The payment approval includes 67 lakh 31 thousand 314 beneficiaries along with 6,903 beneficiaries from the Niyad Nellanar area for their 12th installment. Therefore, the department has approved payment to a total of 67 lakh 38 thousand 217 beneficiaries for this installment.

With the release of the 32nd installment, the total financial assistance transferred to beneficiaries under the Mahtari Vandan Scheme has reached ₹20,708.11 crore. Beneficiaries who have completed their e-KYC and meet the prescribed conditions can check their Mahtari Vandan Scheme payment status through the official portal.

Latest Update On Mahtari Vandan Scheme Registration

The Government of Chhattisgarh has announced that fresh registrations under the Mahtari Vandan Scheme are expected to begin soon for eligible women who could not apply during the earlier registration drive. Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade stated that the proposal has received approval from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and preparations are underway to reopen the application process.

According to the Minister, the fresh registration process will begin in a phased manner. The application portal is expected to be opened first for eligible women in the Bastar Division, after which registrations will be extended to the remaining divisions of Chhattisgarh. Once the portal is reopened, newly eligible women will be able to submit their applications and, after approval, receive the scheme benefit of ₹1,000 per month directly into their bank accounts through the DBT system.

Note: The Government has not yet announced the official date for reopening the Mahtari Vandan Scheme registration portal. Eligible women should wait for the official notification before submitting a fresh application.

Scheme Benefits

Eligibility Requirements

To receive financial assistance under the Chhattisgarh Mahtari Vandan Scheme, the applicant must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

• Must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh.
• Must be a married woman.
• Widowed, divorced, and abandoned women are also eligible.
• Must be 21 years of age or above.
• Must belong to an eligible family as defined under the scheme guidelines.
• Must have a valid Aadhaar Card.
• Must have an active Aadhaar-linked Bank Account to receive the benefit through DBT.

Ineligibility Requirements

Women belonging to any of the following categories are not eligible to receive benefits under the Chhattisgarh Mahtari Vandan Scheme:

• Women whose family has any member who is an Income Tax payer.
• Women whose family has any member working as a regular or permanent employee in the Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Boards, Local Bodies, or Government-controlled organizations.
• Women whose family has any current or former Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
• Women whose family has any current or former Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson of a Government Board, Corporation, or Commission.
• Women whose family already receives a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 or more under any other Government social security or pension scheme. However, if the assistance is less than ₹1,000 per month, only the difference amount may be provided under this scheme.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit self-attested copies of the following documents along with the Mahtari Vandan Yojana application form. Original documents may be required during verification.

• Recent passport-size photograph of the applicant.
• Proof of residence in Chhattisgarh (Residence Certificate, Ration Card, Voter ID Card, or Aadhaar Card showing the address).
• Aadhaar Card of the applicant.
• Aadhaar Card of the husband (where applicable).
• Marriage Certificate or certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat/Local Urban Body.
• Death Certificate of the husband (for widowed applicants).
• Divorce Decree issued by the competent court (for divorced applicants).
• Proof of abandonment issued by the competent authority (for abandoned women).
• Proof of date of birth (Class 10 or Class 12 Certificate, Transfer Certificate, Voter ID, or any other valid government document).
• Bank Passbook showing the applicant's name, account number, and IFSC code.
• Self-declaration or undertaking in the prescribed format, wherever required.
