Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
- While presenting the State Budget for 2026-27, the Government of West Bengal announced a new unemployment assistance initiative titled Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme.
- The scheme is scheduled to be formally launched on 1 April 2026.
- This programme has been introduced to provide monthly financial assistance to educated but unemployed youth so they can manage basic expenses while actively searching for jobs.
- The scheme is being implemented by the Department of Youth Services and Sports of the West Bengal Government.
- Under the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs. 1,500 per month as unemployment support.
- The assistance will continue for a maximum period of five years or until the beneficiary secures employment, whichever occurs earlier.
- The state government has earmarked Rs. 5,000 crore in the 2026-27 financial year to ensure smooth implementation.
- The scheme primarily targets youth who have passed Madhyamik (or equivalent), are currently unemployed, and fall within the 21 to 40 years age group.
- However, individuals already receiving financial benefits under any other government social security scheme will not be eligible.
- Students receiving scholarships or educational assistance may still apply.
- To facilitate enrolment, registration camps are being organised across all 294 Assembly constituencies of the state.
- The camp-based application drive is scheduled from 15 February 2026 to 26 February 2026, making 26 February 2026 the last date to apply.
- Beneficiary Applicant also Apply Online by themselves under Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme through the Amader Para Amader Samadhan Portal.
- The first instalment of assistance under the Banglar Yuba Sathi Scheme will be officially disbursed from 1 April 2026 onward.
- Eligible youth may also apply under the Yuvasree Scheme, another unemployment assistance programme offering similar financial support, subject to its own eligibility conditions.
Scheme Benefits
- Under the scheme, the selected candidates will receive monthly unemployment assistance as financial support during their job search period.
- Each eligible educated but unemployed youth will be receive Rs. 1,500 per month, which will be transferred directly to their bank account through DBT.
- The assistance will continue for a maximum period of five years or until the beneficiary secures employment, whichever occurs earlier.
- This structured support aims to provide temporary financial stability while encouraging beneficiaries to actively seek suitable employment opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- Age should be between 21 and 40 years at the time of application.
- The applicant must have passed Madhyamik (Secondary Examination) or an equivalent qualification.
- The applicant must be unemployed at the time of applying.
- The youth should not be a beneficiary of any other government social security scheme.
Required Documents
- Applicants are required to submit a complete set of supporting documents while applying under Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme.

- All documents should be attached along with the duly filled application form to ensure smooth processing and timely approval of benefits.
Steps to Apply
- Eligible youth of West Bengal can register under the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme through the following modes :-
- Online Mode :- By submitting the application through the official Amader Para Amader Samadhan portal of the Government of West Bengal.
- Offline Mode :- By visiting designated Swanirbhar Bangla Camps, where assistance is provided for enrolment under the scheme.
Online through Amader Para Amader Samadhan Portal
- The Government of West Bengal operates an official portal called Amader Para Amader Samadhan, where eligible youth can submit their online application for the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme.
- To apply, the applicant must open the portal and select the banner or image labeled "Banglar Yuva Sathi" that displays the option "Click to Apply."

- Online applications for the Yuva Sathi Scheme can be submitted only through this portal between 07:00 PM and 05:00 AM, and the facility remains available until 26-02-2026.

- During daytime hours, the online application link for the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme remains inactive on the portal.
- Before starting the application, the portal will display a checklist of required documents.
- Applicants should keep all documents ready and then proceed by clicking on the "Apply Online" button.
- Applicants must log in using their registered mobile number, which will be authenticated through an OTP verification process.

- After successful login, the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme online application form will appear on the screen.
- The applicant must carefully enter the required basic information in the online form, as indicated in the instructions.
- Next, complete and accurate contact details must be provided.
- In the final section of the application form, the applicant needs to fill in details of the MP or equivalent examination along with valid bank account information.
- Once the basic details are saved, all required documents must be uploaded in PDF format as specified on the portal.
- Applicants should review the entire form using the preview option, verify all information, and then click on the submit button to complete the process.
- After successful submission, the portal will generate a unique Application ID for the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme.
- This Application ID can later be used to track the status of the submitted application.
- Upon verification and approval, the sanctioned financial assistance will be directly credited to the beneficiary's bank account.

Offline through Bangla Swanirbhar Camps
- Educated yet unemployed youth of West Bengal can apply for a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 under the Banglar Yuba Sathi Scheme by submitting the prescribed application form.
- The application form can be obtained from special registration camps (Bangla Swanirbhar Camps) set up by the government across all 294 Assembly constituencies of the state.
- In addition, applicants also have the option to download the application form directly from the concerned department's official website.

- In areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the Commissioner acts as the sanctioning authority.
- Once verification is successfully completed, the approved amount of Rs. 1,500 is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account.
- Selected beneficiaries are also required to periodically confirm their status (including life status verification) to continue receiving assistance.
- As per the official schedule, the financial assistance under the scheme will be credited to beneficiaries' bank accounts from 1 April 2026 onward.
