Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The West Bengal Annapurna Bhandar Scheme provides eligible women with Rs. 3,000 monthly financial assistance to strengthen their regular household finances. The amount is deposited into the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), allowing women to use the assistance according to their household requirements.

The scheme is now officially implemented as the Annapurna Yojana. It was earlier associated with the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme name and replaced the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme as the state's monthly financial assistance programme for eligible women. Existing eligible Lakshmir Bhandar beneficiaries can be brought under the new arrangement after verification, while other eligible women can apply through the prescribed process.

Women who are permanent residents of West Bengal and fall in the 25 to 60 years age group can apply for the scheme, subject to the prescribed conditions. The applicant's personal monthly income should not exceed Rs. 10,000, while the family's annual income should be within Rs. 12 lakh. Existing eligible beneficiaries of the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme may also be included after verification.

Certain beneficiaries receiving other government support can also be considered under the revised provisions. Women receiving less than Rs. 3,000 under another allowance may be brought under the scheme, while eligible women receiving disability allowance or PM-KISAN benefits can continue receiving those benefits along with Annapurna assistance, subject to the applicable conditions.

The beneficiary inclusion process is continuing after the government identified cases that required correction or reconsideration in the earlier lists. More than 1.70 crore applications have been received so far, and the latest relaxations are intended to help include more genuine beneficiaries who were previously left out.

Women looking for the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme application form can use the prescribed Bengali or English application forms and submit them through the available government channels. Online registration is linked to the West Bengal Social Registry Portal, although the citizen application window may not always be available. Applicants should check the current portal status before attempting online registration.

The next instalment of the West Bengal Annapurna Bhandar Scheme will be credited from 17 August 2026. Eligible beneficiaries will receive the Rs. 3,000 assistance through DBT in their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. Beneficiaries should therefore ensure that their bank account is active and correctly linked for receiving the upcoming payment.

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Only women aged 25 to 60 years can qualify.
• The woman's personal monthly income should not exceed Rs. 10,000.
• The family's annual income should not exceed Rs. 12 lakh.
• Women receiving less than Rs. 3,000 per month under another government allowance may also be considered for Annapurna assistance.
• Eligible women receiving disability allowance may receive both benefits.
• PM-KISAN beneficiaries may also receive Annapurna assistance along with their existing PM-KISAN benefit.
• The three-room condition does not apply to rural women, so having more than three rooms does not make a rural woman ineligible on this ground.
• The government has relaxed certain landholding conditions in rural areas and Kolkata and Howrah Corporation areas.
• Eligible existing beneficiaries of the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme may be migrated to the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme after verification.
• Women who have filed an appeal before the SIR Tribunal or submitted an application under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act may continue receiving benefits until their cases are disposed of, subject to applicable government rules.

Ineligibility Criteria

• Women below 25 years or above 60 years are not eligible.
• Women holding permanent government jobs are excluded.
• Women receiving a regular government salary or pension are not eligible.
• Women working in specified government bodies, undertakings, panchayats, municipalities, local authorities or government-aided educational institutions are excluded.
• Women earning more than Rs. 10,000 per month personally are not eligible.
• Families with an annual income above Rs. 12 lakh and liable to pay income tax are excluded.
• Women who are not residents of West Bengal cannot apply.
• In applicable non-rural areas, families with more than three rooms may be excluded. This condition does not apply to rural women.
• Beneficiaries found to be deceased, shifted, duplicate, deleted or otherwise ineligible during verification may be removed.
• Applications containing incorrect information or fake documents may be rejected.
• Applicants or their family members holding a GSTIN may not qualify under the scheme.

Steps to Apply for the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme

Eligible women beneficiaries can apply for the Annapurna Bhandar Yojana through both online and offline modes. The authorities released the offline application forms on 27 May 2026, while the Annapurna Bhandar Yojana online apply facility became available from 3 June 2026.

Note: Applicants who successfully submitted their Annapurna Yojana application online on 03 June 2026 must submit a fresh application using the newly introduced application format.

Annapurna Bhandar Yojana Online Application Process

• West Bengal Annapurna Bhandar Yojana Portal Registration Online.
• The Annapurna Bhandar Yojana Portal will appear on your screen.
• On the homepage, click on the "Access Citizen Portal" option.
  
• You will be redirected to a new page where you need to select your district from the list.
  
• Enter your registered mobile number in the designated field.
• Click on the OTP option and enter the OTP received on your mobile number to complete verification.
  
• After OTP verification, the Annapurna Bhandar Yojana online application form will open on your screen.
  
• The application form is divided into seven sections, including Basic Information, Ration Card Details, Asset Details, Income and Profession Details, Identity Documents, Government Scheme Benefits, and Family Identity Details.
• Start by filling in your personal information, such as name, date of birth, gender, category, Aadhaar number, voter card details, mobile number, and bank account information.
• Click on the "Add Member" option to enter details of other family members, if applicable.
• Complete the remaining sections by providing the required family, ration card, asset, income, identity, and government scheme-related information.
• Carefully review all the details entered in the application form before final submission.
• Read the declaration and consent statement carefully and tick the required checkbox.
• Click on the "Submit" button to complete the online application process.
• After successful submission, note down or save the temporary application number for future status tracking and verification purposes.

• Eligible women beneficiaries can also apply offline for the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme.

• Annapurna Bhandar Prakalpo application form can be collected from the concerned BDO Office (Block Development Office) or SDO Office (Sub-Divisional Office) of the respective district.

Applicants filling the Annapurna Yojana online application form may be required to provide the following information during different stages of registration:

• Basic Information: Name, date of birth, gender, category, Aadhaar number, voter card number, mobile number, address, bank account details, and family member information.
• Ration Card Details: Digital ration card number, ration card category, and details of monthly ration benefits received by the family.
• Asset Details: House details, number of rooms, land ownership information, landholding details, vehicle ownership details, and health insurance coverage information.
• Income and Profession Details: Employment status, occupation details, annual family income, PAN details, tax-related information, pension details, educational qualifications, and GST registration details, if applicable.
• Identity Documents: Aadhaar details, EPIC (Voter ID) details, CAA-related information (if applicable), and details of other identity or credit-related documents.

• Family Identity Details: Family member information, relationship with the head of the family, children's education details, vaccination records, and declaration details required for verification.

How to Correct Details in Annapurna Bhandar Scheme Application?

Applicants should carefully check all information before submitting the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme application form. Once the application is submitted, applicants cannot edit or update the details through their citizen login. If any incorrect information has been submitted, the following process may be followed.

• Do not submit a duplicate application if you have already submitted one successfully.
• Visit your nearest BDO Office (Block Development Office) or SDO Office (Sub-Divisional Office).
• Inform the concerned official about the incorrect information entered in your application.
• Carry your Temporary Application ID or application acknowledgement details.
• Bring supporting documents related to the correction request.
• Officials can locate your application using the Temporary Application ID.
• After verifying the documents, authorised officials may update the incorrect details through their official login, if permitted under government guidelines.
• Applicants should cooperate with the verification process and provide any additional information requested by the authorities.

Important: The Annapurna Bhandar Yojana Portal currently does not provide any self-correction or edit facility after final submission. Therefore, applicants should carefully verify Aadhaar details, bank account information, mobile number, family details, ration card details, and other information before submitting the application form.

Annapurna Bhandar Scheme Application Status

Applicants who have registered under the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme can verify their application status online through the official Social Registry Portal. Follow the steps below:

1. Open the official Social Registry Portal.
2. Click the "Access Citizen Portal" option.
3. Select your district from the available list.
4. Enter the mobile number used during the application process.
5. Answer the security captcha code displayed on the screen.
6. Click on the "Request OTP" button.
7. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and complete the login process.
8. Once you sign in successfully, the portal will display your Annapurna Bhandar Scheme application status.
9. If your application has been accepted, the status will appear as "Application Approved."
   
10. If it has not been approved, the portal will display the applicable status, such as "Rejected".
    

Annapurna Bhandar Scheme Payment Status

Many beneficiaries want to know whether their Annapurna Bhandar Scheme instalment has been approved or credited to their bank account. At present, the government has not provided any online facility to check the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme payment status through the applicant login portal.

• Beneficiaries cannot check the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme payment status online at present.
• The financial assistance amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account through the DBT system.
• Once the instalment is successfully credited, beneficiaries will receive an SMS notification on their registered mobile number.
• Applicants should ensure that their mobile number remains active to receive payment-related updates.
• Beneficiaries should also ensure that their Aadhaar-linked bank account is active and eligible for DBT payments.
• If the payment is not received after approval, beneficiaries may contact their nearest BDO Office or SDO Office for assistance.

Important: There is currently no separate Annapurna Bhandar Scheme payment status checking facility available online. Beneficiaries will be informed through SMS after the instalment is credited to their bank account.

Types of Status Shown in Annapurna Bhandar Applicant Login

After signing in to the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme portal, applicants can see the current status of their application. The status tells whether the application has been accepted, rejected, or whether there is any issue in receiving the monthly financial assistance. The portal may display the following status messages:

Application Approved

If the portal shows "Application Approved", it means your application has been successfully verified by the concerned authority. You have been found eligible under the scheme and will receive the monthly financial assistance of Rs. 3,000 in your Aadhaar-linked bank account through the DBT system as per the government's payment schedule.

Application Rejected

If your application status shows "Application Rejected", it means your application has not been approved by the authorities. The Annapurna Bhandar Scheme citizen portal now also displays the reason for rejection, allowing applicants to understand why their application was rejected and take further action if required.

Under Enquiry

If your application status shows "Under Enquiry", it means the concerned department is re-verifying your application after receiving a grievance or objection against its rejection. Once the enquiry and verification are completed, the status will be updated to either "Application Approved" or "Application Rejected".

Payment Failure

If your status shows "Payment Failure", it means your application has been approved, but the monthly assistance could not be deposited into your bank account. This usually happens because your Aadhaar is not linked with your bank account, DBT is not active, or there is an issue with your bank account. You should contact your bank and get the problem resolved so that you can receive future installments without any delay.

How to Change or Update Bank Account in Annapurna Bhandar Scheme Online?

Existing Lakshmir Bhandar beneficiaries who want to receive Annapurna Bhandar Scheme benefits in a different bank account should ensure that their Aadhaar is linked with the correct and active bank account. This is important because financial assistance under the scheme is transferred through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system.

The process shared below is also useful for new Annapurna Bhandar Scheme new applicants who want to check which bank account is currently linked with their Aadhaar Card for receiving DBT benefits. Beneficiaries can verify their Aadhaar-linked bank account and update it online through the NPCI Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE) Portal.

Women whose bank account has become inactive, closed, or who want to receive benefits in another bank account can use this facility to update their Aadhaar-linked bank account without visiting the bank branch.

• Visit the official NPCI BASE Portal.
• Click on the Consumer and Select "Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE)".
• Click on the "Aadhaar Mapping Status" option.
• Enter your Aadhaar Number, captcha code, and OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
• The system will display the bank account currently linked with your Aadhaar for receiving DBT benefits.
  

Update Aadhaar-Linked Bank Account

• Open the "Aadhaar Seeding/De-Seeding" option on the BASE Portal.
• Select your bank and enter the new bank account details.
• Choose the appropriate option for changing the account within the same bank or transferring the Aadhaar linkage to another bank.
• Verify the request through OTP authentication and submit it.
• After successful verification, the new bank account will become active for receiving DBT payments.
