Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

If you are a student from SC, ST, or OBC communities studying in Delhi and have performed exceptionally well in your graduation, this scheme is meant to recognise your achievement.

The Dr B. R. Ambedkar State Topper Award for SC/ST/OBC Students is an initiative of the Government of NCT of Delhi to encourage students to focus on higher education and reward academic excellence. Under this scheme, students who secure the top position in their discipline in professional or technical degree courses are given a one-time award of Rs 25,000 after completing their final year.

To be eligible, students must have completed their 10th and 12th education from Delhi and belong to the SC, ST or OBC categories with a valid certificate issued in Delhi. The award is strictly based on merit and is given only once to the topper in each discipline in recognised universities/colleges.

This scheme is a way of appreciating hard work and motivating students from these communities to perform better in higher education. It also helps ensure that academic excellence is recognised at the state level fairly and encouragingly.

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must have passed 10th and 12th from Delhi.
• The student must belong to the SC/ST/OBC category and possess a valid caste certificate issued by the competent authority of Delhi.
• The candidate must be enrolled in a recognised professional or technical degree course.
• The student must have secured the top position among SC/ST/OBC students in the respective discipline of the professional/technical course.
• The award is granted only once after passing the final examination (completion of the course).

Required Documents

• SC/ST/OBC caste certificate issued by the competent authority (Delhi).
• Proof of 10th and 12th passing from Delhi.
• Graduation degree/mark sheets or final result proof.
• Identity proof (such as Aadhaar card).
• Bank account details for fund transfer.
• Passport-size photograph.

Steps to Apply

• Visit the official Delhi e-District portal.
• On the homepage, click on the"Service" section.
• Select Welfare of SC/ST, and click.
• Now find the "Dr B.R. Ambedkar State Toppers Award for Students belonging to SC/ST/OBC Category".
• Register or log in using existing credentials.
• Fill in the required personal and academic details.
• Upload all required documents.
• Submit the application and wait for verification and selection based on merit.
