Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Jamia Hamdard Residential Coaching Academy (JHRCA) is a government-supported civil services coaching programme backed by the Ministry of Education through the University Grants Commission. The Academy delivers a comprehensive 10-month intensive UPSC Civil Services Examination coaching programme running from 1st August 2026 to 31st May 2027. This premier residential coaching centre, powered by NAAC A+-accredited Jamia Hamdard University, offers world-class infrastructure, experienced faculty, and university library resources at highly affordable government-sponsored fees, distinguishing it from expensive commercial coaching centres that charge premium rates for UPSC preparation.

The civil services coaching programme welcomes Bachelor's degree holders and final year students from UGC-recognised universities who aspire to join the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, and other civil services. Candidates must be below 30 years (General category) or 32 years (SC/ST/OBC candidates) as on 01-01-2026 and should commit to maintaining 60% monthly attendance. The Jamia Hamdard RCA particularly encourages women candidates aspiring for civil services, minorities, and SC/ST aspirants, maintaining inclusive admission policies. Merit category candidates pay just Rs 5000 per month (Rs 50,000 for the entire 10-month residential coaching programme) with fee remission up to 50% available for extremely indigent families, while self-financed candidates pay ₹15000 per month (Rs 150,000 total). All admitted candidates in this government-aided coaching academy receive AC hostel accommodation, mess facility, dedicated library access operating 18 hours daily, Wi-Fi connectivity, regular test series aligned with UPSC Civil Services Examination patterns, personalised mentoring for exam preparation, personality development training for the interview stage, and current affairs integration with the UPSC syllabus.

The JHRCA admission process and application deadline begin when applications open on 30th April 2026 and close on 15th June 2026 through www.jamiahamdard.ac.in/jhrca. The entrance written examination for the residential coaching programme is scheduled for 30th June 2026 at Jamia Hamdard Campus in New Delhi, comprising two papers (General Studies for Civil Services and CSAT) with 400 total marks. Selected candidates participate in personal interviews or group discussions on 8th-11th July 2026, which carries 50 marks. The final merit list for UPSC coaching seats is announced on 17th July 2026, and selected candidates complete admission documentation and fee payment by 24th July 2026. The coaching programme officially commences with orientation on 1st August 2026. Merit-based selection (50 seats) and self-financed category (15 seats) operate separately, with preference given to candidates who appeared in CSE Mains 2024 or 2025 for the UPSC civil services examination.

Along with this, there are some other alternatives that offer coaching for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, including JMI RCA Free Coaching Program, Hamdard Study Circle Civil Services Coaching, and Atiya Foundation Free Coaching Program.
