Eligibility Requirements

• The scholarship is available to students studying in India in eligible Government or private colleges/universities.
• For the General Scholarship, the applicant must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26.
• The applicant must have taken admission to the first year of an eligible course in the 2026-27 academic year.
• Eligible General Scholarship courses include MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS, BE, BTECH, BArch, graduation, integrated courses, diploma, vocational courses and ITI.
• For the Special Scholarship, the applicant must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26.
• Students taking lateral entry into the second year of an Engineering degree, or regular admission to the first year after completing a Diploma, may also be considered if they passed the Diploma with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26.
• For the Special Scholarship, admission must be taken in the first year of Intermediate/10+2, vocational, diploma or ITI courses during 2026-27.
• The annual income of the applicant's parents or guardian from all sources must not exceed ₹4.50 lakh.
• Students enrolled through correspondence, part-time, evening or night classes, or Open Universities are not eligible.
• Postgraduate courses are not covered, except when they are part of an eligible integrated course.
• Self-study professional courses such as CA, CS and ICMAI are not covered.
• Students receiving a scholarship from another private trust or institution are not eligible. Government scholarship recipients can apply.
• Lateral-entry students admitted directly to the second year of Engineering after completing a Diploma may also be considered if they meet the prescribed conditions.
• Students whose Board follows a grading system must provide the equivalent percentage prescribed by the Board.

Meeting these conditions does not guarantee selection. Eligible applications are assessed through LIC's prescribed selection process, with marks in the qualifying examination serving as the primary basis for ranking.

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026: Renewal Conditions

The scholarship can continue for the eligible course duration, provided students meet the required academic and attendance conditions.

• Medical and engineering students must secure at least 55% marks and pass all subjects.
• Students in graduation and other eligible courses must secure at least 50% marks and pass all subjects.
• Special Scholarship students must secure at least 50% marks and pass all subjects in the first annual examination.
• Students must maintain regular attendance as required by their institution.
• Changes in the course or institution must be reported to the concerned LIC Divisional Office.
• Students who fail a subject and clear it later may not be eligible for renewal.
• Exceptional cases may be considered if supported by valid reasons and proper verification.

How Many Scholarships Are Available?

The LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2026 provides a substantial number of scholarships through LIC's Divisional Offices. LIC has 112 Divisional Offices participating in the selection process.
