Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
- The Government of Tripura launched the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana on 1 April 2021.
- The purpose of introducing this scheme is to provide financial relief to families belonging to Antyodaya category at the time of the death of a family member.
- Through this initiative, the state government offers a one-time monetary grant to help cover the immediate expenses related to cremation or burial.
- The scheme is implemented by the Department of Social Welfare & Social Education, Tripura.
- Under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana, the next of kin or closest family member receives financial assistance to meet funeral expenses.
- An amount of Rs. 10,000 is provided as immediate support to conduct the cremation or burial of the deceased.
- Only Antyodaya families who are permanent residents of Tripura are eligible to receive benefits under this scheme.
- To obtain assistance, an application written on plain paper must be submitted at the Anganwadi Centre.
- The CDPO sanctions the Rs. 10,000 amount and instructs the Anganwadi Worker to disburse the cash assistance to the applicant.
- In case of any help regarding Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana, applicant can directly contact the Anganwadi Worker or Child Development Project Officer.
- The Antyodaya Families can also apply for monetary assistance for marriage under the Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana of the Tripura Government.

Eligibility Requirements
- The deceased must be a permanent resident of Tripura.
- The family must belong to the Antyodaya category.
- Applicants of any age may apply.
- The cremation assistance is released to the next of kin or nearest family member.
Required Documents
- Antyodaya Ration Card.
- Deceased Aadhaar Card.
- Applicant Aadhaar Card.
- Mobile number.
- Recent colour photograph.
Steps to Apply
- The family member of the deceased can apply for cremation assistance under this scheme by following the prescribed process.
- The next of kin must write an application on plain paper requesting financial support.
- The Antyodaya Ration Card reflecting the name of the deceased should be attached with the application.
- The application must be certified by the appropriate authority as mentioned below :-
- In Rural Areas - Gaon Pradhan.
- In Urban Areas - Ward Member.
- In TTAADC Areas - Chairperson of the Village Committee.
- After certification, the application along with required documents should be submitted at the Anganwadi Centre.
- Upon receiving the application, the Child Development Project Officer sanctions the grant and directs the Anganwadi Worker to release the amount in cash.
- For any assistance related to the scheme, applicants may approach the Anganwadi Worker.
