Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Assam Finance Minister Smt. Ajanta Neog presented the 2025-26 state budget on 10 March 2025. During her speech, she announced two major education focused welfare schemes for students in Assam.
• The first is the Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme, which offers a per month financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/- to students who recently completed their graduation.
• The second, which this article focuses on, is the Chief Minister Anuprerana Scheme.
• Both schemes carry meaningful Assamese words: "Jibon" means life, and "Prerana/Anuprerana" means motivation or inspiration.
• The Chief Minister Anuprerana Scheme is designed specifically for research scholars.
• The Assam Government launched it to support scholars in their academic journey and encourage research excellence and innovation in the state.
• The scheme is implemented by the Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Government of Assam.
• Under this scheme, research scholars receive a one-time financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 to support their research work.
• If the scholar is a divyang (person with disability), the assistance is Rs. 40,000.
• Both male and female PhD scholars enrolled in Central or State Government Universities located within Assam are eligible to apply.
• However, the following students cannot apply for assistance under CM Jibon Anuprerana Scheme :-
  • Beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme.
  • PhD scholars studying in Open Universities or Private Institutions.
• The Assam Government has created a dedicated online platform the Digital Infrastructure for DBT Schemes (DIDS) Portal, where eligible research scholars can submit their applications for the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme.

Scheme Benefits

• One Time Scholarship to Research Scholars of Assam.
• Rs. 25,000/- Scholarship Amount will be provided to Selected Research Scholar.
• Rs. 40,000/- Scholarship Amount will be provided to Divyang (Disabled) Research Scholars.

Eligibility Requirement

• Beneficiary Student should be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
• Only full-time research scholars enrolled in a PhD program can apply.
• Both male and female scholars studying in State or Central Government Universities in Assam qualify for the scheme.
• The University or Educational Institution must be located within Assam.
• PhD scholars from open universities or private institutions cannot apply.
• Anyone who has already received benefits under the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme is not eligible.

Steps to Apply

• Assam Government's Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme Online Application Form is available on DIDS Portal.
• Start by visiting the portal and registering with your mobile number, which the system will verify through an OTP.
• After verification, open the registration form, enter your details, and complete the registration.
• Log In to the DIDS Portal using your registered mobile number and password, or simply log in with the mobile OTP.
• On the right side of the dashboard, search for the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme and select it to begin your application.
• The online application form will open, and you will need to enter the following details step by step :-
  • Personal Information.
  • Contact Information.
  • Educational Background.
  • Details of PhD Program.
  • University Information.
• Upload all the required documents as asked on the DIDS Portal.
• Review everything carefully and submit your application for the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme.
• Your university will first verify the application form and the uploaded documents.
• Once the university confirms your eligibility for the one-time financial assistance, it will forward your name to the concerned department.
• Department officials will conduct another round of verification on their end.
• After final approval, you will receive the financial assistance directly in your bank account i.e. Rs. 25,000/- to regular research scholars and Rs. 40,000/- to divyang (disabled) scholars.
• You can check your Jibon Anuprerana Scheme Application Status anytime by logging in to the DIDS Portal.
