Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Chhattisgarh Government has launched the Chhattisgarh Udyam Kranti Yojana to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth of the state. The scheme has been introduced as a revamped initiative replacing the earlier Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarojgar Yojana and aims to financially support unemployed youth who wish to establish their own business, startup, service unit, or manufacturing enterprise. Through this initiative, the government is focusing on creating "Atmanirbhar Yuva, Atmanirbhar Chhattisgarh" by encouraging young individuals to become self-reliant and generate employment opportunities at the local level.

According to the information currently available, one of the major highlights of the scheme is the provision of up to 50% subsidy on approved loans for eligible beneficiaries. Along with subsidy support, beneficiaries may also receive interest-free or subsidised financial assistance for establishing self-employment ventures. This financial assistance is expected to reduce the repayment burden on youth and help aspiring entrepreneurs establish their own livelihood activities without facing major capital-related difficulties during the initial phase of business setup.

Similar to the previous Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarojgar Yojana, the scheme is expected to support different categories of self-employment projects, including manufacturing, service, and business sector activities. Under the earlier scheme framework, manufacturing enterprises were eligible for project costs up to Rs. 25 lakh, service sector activities up to Rs. 10 lakh, and business sector projects up to Rs. 2 lakh. The new Udyam Kranti Yojana is also expected to provide financial assistance for various self-employment activities such as retail shops, repair centres, service units, transport businesses, food processing activities, startups, and small industrial ventures.

The government has particularly focused on unemployed educated youth, women entrepreneurs, and economically weaker individuals who often face difficulties in arranging funds to start their own business. By promoting self-employment instead of dependency on government jobs alone, the scheme aims to reduce unemployment and migration while strengthening the local economy and small business ecosystem within Chhattisgarh.

As per the information currently available, applicants may apply for the scheme through their nearest District Trade & Industries Centre (DIC/DTIC). However, detailed operational guidelines and official implementation instructions are still awaited from the state government. Beneficiaries are advised to regularly check official government portals and stay in contact with the concerned District Industries Centre for updates related to loan limits, eligibility conditions, subsidy structure, and application schedules. Along with this scheme, the state government also runs Startup Chhattisgarh Yojana, providing an interest-free loan of Rs 50 lakhs.

• Preference may be given to women, weaker sections, and educated unemployed youth.
• Applicant should possess the required documents related to identity, residence, and proposed business activity.
• Only one member from a family may be eligible to avail benefits under the scheme.
• The applicant should not be a bank loan defaulter.
• The applicant should not be availing similar benefits under any other government self-employment scheme.

Steps to Apply

• Applicants can get the application form free of cost from the concerned District Trade and Industry Centre (DTIC/DIC).
• The application form must be filled in the prescribed format.
• Applicants must attach all required supporting documents to the Udhyam Kranti Yojana application form.
• A brief project report or project profile of the proposed business activity must also be attached.
• The completed application form must be submitted to the District Trade and Industry Centre.
• All received applications will be registered by the department.
• Incomplete applications may be returned for correction.
• Applicants may get up to 15 days to complete the missing information or documents.
• Applications not completed within the given period may be returned by the department.
• The received applications will be placed before the Task Force Committee.
• The Task Force Committee may interview the applicant.
• The committee may assess qualification, experience, technical skills, and project feasibility.
• Approved cases will be forwarded to the concerned bank or financial institution.
• Applicants may be informed about the loan approval status by the bank.
• Enterprises established under the scheme may be inspected by District Trade and Industry Centre officials.
