Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The West Bengal Annapurna Yojana is a women's financial assistance scheme launched by the Government of West Bengal to provide regular financial support to eligible women. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Rs 3,000 per month directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The latest eligibility criteria include a personal monthly income limit of Rs 10,000 and an annual family income limit of Rs 12 lakh. The government has also relaxed certain landholding conditions to include more eligible women, particularly in rural areas.

The latest changes also allow certain women receiving other government assistance to be considered for Annapurna Yojana. Women receiving less than Rs 3,000 per month under another allowance may be considered for the scheme. More than 1.70 crore applications have been received under the West Bengal Annapurna Yojana so far. Eligibility Requirements

Ineligibility Criteria

Applicants who do not fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions under Annapurna Yojana may not receive benefits under the scheme. Women applicants should carefully verify the exclusion conditions before submitting the application form.

• Women below 25 years or above 60 years are not eligible.
• Permanent government employees are not eligible.
• Women receiving a regular government salary or pension are not eligible.
• Women working in government undertakings, panchayats, municipalities, local authorities, or government-aided educational institutions are excluded.
• Women earning more than Rs. 10,000 per month personally are not eligible.
• Families with an annual income above Rs. 12 lakh and liable to pay income tax are not eligible.
• Families with more than three rooms may be excluded in non-rural areas. This condition does not apply to rural women.
• Beneficiaries found to be deceased, shifted, duplicate, deleted, or otherwise ineligible during verification may be removed.
• Applications containing incorrect information or fake documents may be rejected.
• The earlier landholding criterion has been relaxed in rural areas and Kolkata and Howrah Corporation areas.
• Applicants or their family members holding a GSTIN may not qualify for the scheme.

• The West Bengal Government launched a separate specific portal of Annapurna Yojana through which beneficiary women can register themselves for monthly assistance.
• Beneficiary Women will have to visit the Official Annapurna Yojana Portal, and the URL is socialregistry.wb.gov.in.
• On the homepage, click on the "Access Citizen Portal" option. 
  
• On the next page, select your district from the list and enter your mobile number.

How to Correct Wrong Details in the Annapurna Yojana Application?

If you have entered incorrect information in your Annapurna Yojana application, you cannot directly edit the submitted application through the citizen login. You should contact the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO) or Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office and request correction of the details.

• Visit the concerned BDO/SDO Office and inform the officials about the incorrect details in your application.

Applicants who have submitted their Annapurna Yojana application can check its status online through the official Social Registry Portal by following the steps given below:

• Visit the official Social Registry Portal.
• On the homepage, click on the "Access Citizen Portal" button.
• Select your district from the list.
• Enter your registered mobile number.
• Complete the security captcha verification displayed on the screen.
• Click on the "Request OTP" button.
• Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and log in to the portal.

West Bengal Annapurna Yojana Objection & Claim

The West Bengal Annapurna Yojana Applicant Login provides an "Objection & Claim" facility for applicants and citizens who need to raise a claim regarding their own application or submit an objection concerning another applicant or beneficiary. The facility appears after logging into the Citizen Portal and provides two separate options: "Claim by Applicant" and "Objection Against Someone."

The portal states that applicants can use this facility if their application was wrongly rejected or contains incorrect details. When Can an Applicant Submit a Claim?

An applicant can consider submitting a claim when there is an issue with their application or when the applicant needs to provide clarification or supporting information for further verification.

• When the applicant believes that their application has been wrongly rejected.
• When incorrect details have been recorded in the application.
• When the application is showing "Further Verification" and the applicant needs to provide clarification or supporting information.
• When the applicant needs to submit relevant information or documents for verification of their application.

How to Submit a Claim?

• Log in to the Annapurna Yojana Citizen Portal using your district, registered mobile number, captcha and OTP.
• Open the "Objection & Claim" section and select "Claim by Applicant."
  
• Select the relevant applicant or family member and choose the applicable claim reason.
  
• Provide the required clarification in the remarks section.
• Upload the supporting documents requested by the portal and submit the claim.
• After submitting the claim online, applicants should visit the concerned BDO or SDO Office with the relevant application details and supporting documents for further verification, wherever required.
• Use the "Track Claims" option to check the status of the submitted claim.

Objection Against Someone

The "Objection Against Someone" option is different from a claim on your own application. It allows a person to raise an objection regarding another Annapurna Yojana applicant or beneficiary when they have genuine information indicating a possible issue with the person's eligibility or application details.

• Log in to the Citizen Portal using the required mobile number and OTP verification.
• Open "Objection & Claim" and select "Objection Against Someone."
• Enter the required objector details, such as name, father's name and address.
• Select the relevant objection category.

What Happens if Your Application is Provisionally Rejected?

Applicants whose Annapurna Yojana application has been marked as Provisionally Rejected should not consider it a final rejection. As per the Government review meeting held on 4th July 2026, every provisionally rejected application will undergo field-level verification before a final decision is taken. This process aims to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the scheme.

• Your application will be verified through a field enquiry before a final decision is taken.
• The concerned officials may visit or contact you to verify your details, documents, and eligibility under the scheme.
• After verification, the officials will upload their recommendation on the official portal, based on which your application may be approved or finally rejected.
• The Government has instructed officials to complete the field verification process within 7 days.
• If you submitted an offline application through Jan Kalyan Samiti (JKS) or any other authorised collection centre, it will be digitised, verified, and uploaded to the portal.
• If the Government introduces an objection or claim facility, you may get an opportunity to request a review of your application.
• If your application is approved but payment is delayed due to Aadhaar or bank account issues, the concerned authorities will coordinate with banks to resolve such issues.
• The verification process is intended to ensure that every eligible applicant receives the benefit while ineligible applications are filtered out.

Annapurna Yojana Payment Status

After the Government of West Bengal started transferring Annapurna Yojana instalments to eligible beneficiaries, many women have been searching for ways to check whether the payment has been credited to their bank account. However, it is important to note that the government has not yet provided any online facility to check the Annapurna Yojana payment status through the portal.

Types of Application Status Shown in Annapurna Yojana Login

After logging in to the Annapurna Yojana Citizen Portal, applicants can view the current status of their application. The status helps applicants understand whether their application has been approved, rejected, or if there is any issue with the payment process. At present, the portal may display one of the following statuses:

1. Application Approved

If your application status shows "Application Approved", it means the concerned authorities have successfully verified your application and found you eligible under the scheme. Approved beneficiaries are eligible to receive the monthly financial assistance of Rs. 3,000 through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, subject to the government's payment schedule.

2. Application Rejected

After receiving the grievance, the concerned officials may keep the application Under Enquiry and initiate a fresh verification process. During this stage, the authorities may conduct an on-ground enquiry, verify the applicant's documents, and confirm the eligibility details before taking a final decision.

Once the verification process is completed, the application status will be updated on the portal. Depending on the verification outcome, the status may change to "Application Approved" if the applicant is found eligible or remain "Application Rejected" if the applicant does not satisfy the scheme conditions.

4. Payment Failure

If your status shows "Payment Failure", it generally indicates that the application has been approved but the financial assistance could not be credited to your bank account. This may occur due to reasons such as the bank account not being linked with Aadhaar, DBT services not being enabled, incorrect bank account details, an inactive bank account, or any other banking-related issue. Beneficiaries should contact their bank and ensure that their Aadhaar is correctly linked with their bank account and that DBT is active to receive future payments.

Annapurna Yojana Re-Application After Rejection

The West Bengal Government has rejected around 17 lakh applications under Annapurna Yojana during the verification process for various reasons.
