Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Jharkhand Swami Vivekananda Nishakt Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana is a social security pension scheme of the Government of Jharkhand designed to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible persons with disabilities. Implemented by the Department of Women, Child Development & Social Security under the Sarvajan Pension Yojana, the scheme aims to offer regular financial support so that beneficiaries can manage their essential expenses with greater confidence.

Under the scheme, eligible applicants receive a monthly pension of ₹1,000, which is credited directly to their Aadhaar-linked bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The Government has adopted a transparent process for application, verification, approval, and pension disbursement to ensure that the financial assistance reaches deserving beneficiaries efficiently.

Eligible residents of Jharkhand who fulfil the prescribed disability and other eligibility conditions can apply for the scheme through the prescribed offline application process. After the application and supporting documents are verified by the concerned authorities, eligible applicants are approved by the competent authority, and the monthly pension is credited directly to their Aadhaar-linked bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Along with providing regular financial assistance, the scheme strengthens the State's social security system by ensuring that pension benefits are delivered through a transparent and accountable process. Annual verification of beneficiaries, Aadhaar-based payments, and proper scrutiny of applications help ensure that the assistance reaches only eligible persons with disabilities in a timely manner.

The Government of Jharkhand also operates several other pension and social security schemes for different categories of citizens. Depending on their eligibility, applicants may also explore the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Rajya Vridhavastha Pension Yojana for senior citizens, the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Rajya Nirashrit Mahila Samman Pension Yojana for eligible destitute women, and the Rajya Vidhwa Punarvivah Protsahan Yojana, which provides financial support to encourage widow remarriage.
