About the Scheme

Every year, millions of young aspirants dream of getting selected into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Forest Service (IFS), and other Central and State Civil Services to serve the nation and society. However, reaching this milestone is not easy. Preparing for competitive examinations such as UPSC and MPPSC requires years of hard work, regular study, quality guidance, and adequate financial resources. Due to financial constraints, many talented candidates are forced to discontinue their preparation midway or are unable to continue preparing for the next stage even after qualifying the previous one.

The Government of Madhya Pradesh operates several schemes to support youth preparing for competitive examinations at different levels. These include the Sardar Patel Coaching Training Scheme, which provides free coaching to eligible candidates for competitive examinations, and the Chief Minister Jan Kalyan (Education Incentive) Scheme, which provides financial assistance to economically weaker students to continue higher education. The Madhya Pradesh Civil Services Incentive Scheme is another important initiative in this direction. It provides financial incentives to eligible candidates who successfully clear various stages of the UPSC and MPPSC examinations, enabling them to continue their preparation for the subsequent stages.

A unique feature of this scheme is that it is implemented by different departments of the Government of Madhya Pradesh for their respective eligible beneficiary categories. Under this scheme, benefits are provided to eligible candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disabilities, and Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities. Each department prescribes its own eligibility criteria, income limit, incentive amount, application procedure, and other necessary conditions. Therefore, although the objective of the scheme remains the same, its rules and benefits may vary for different beneficiary categories.

Under the scheme, department-wise incentive amounts are provided upon successfully clearing each important stage of the examination, including the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview/Final Selection. This financial assistance not only recognizes the achievements of candidates but also enables them to continue preparing for the next stage with greater confidence. The objective of the State Government is to provide equal opportunities to deserving and meritorious candidates from all sections of society, increase their representation in the civil services, and ensure that financial hardship does not become an obstacle to the dreams of any talented aspirant.
