Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Government launched the Uttar Pradesh Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana under the Nand Baba Dudh Mission to promote indigenous dairy cattle breeds and strengthen the animal husbandry sector in the state. The scheme provides substantial financial assistance to eligible dairy farmers for establishing high-yield dairy cattle units with indigenous breeds such as Sahiwal, Gir, Tharparkar, and Gangatiri. Through this initiative, the government aims to increase milk production, generate self-employment opportunities, and improve the income of livestock farmers across Uttar Pradesh.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries can establish a dairy unit consisting of up to 25 indigenous cows and receive a subsidy of 50% of the approved project cost. For a unit comprising 25 Sahiwal, Gir, or Tharparkar cows, the project cost is fixed at ₹62.50 lakh, and eligible applicants can receive a subsidy of up to ₹31.25 lakh. Similarly, for a unit comprising 20 Sahiwal, Gir, or Tharparkar cows along with up to 5 Gangatiri cows, the project cost is ₹61 lakh, and the subsidy amount can reach ₹30.50 lakh. In addition to the subsidy, beneficiaries can obtain up to 35% of the project cost as a bank loan, while only 15% of the cost has to be arranged by the applicant.

The Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana is being implemented under the Nand Baba Dudh Mission, a major initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Government for the development of the dairy sector. Apart from this scheme, the mission also includes Mukhyamantri Pragathisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Go Samvardhan Yojana, and Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana. Together, these schemes aim to encourage scientific dairy farming, conserve indigenous cattle breeds, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities in rural areas.

The scheme is intended for experienced dairy farmers and livestock rearers residing in Uttar Pradesh. Applicants must possess adequate land for dairy unit establishment and fodder cultivation, and should have at least three years of experience in cattle or buffalo rearing, certified by the concerned Chief Veterinary Officer. Preference is given to eligible women applicants, while beneficiaries who have already availed benefits under Kamdhenu Yojana, Mini Kamdhenu Yojana, or Micro Kamdhenu Yojana are not eligible to apply under this scheme.

Eligible applicants can submit their applications as per the guidelines issued by the Animal Husbandry Department under the Nand Baba Dudh Mission. Applications may be submitted through the prescribed online or offline process, and all applications are verified by the department before approval. If the number of eligible applications exceeds the available target, beneficiary selection may be carried out through an e-Lottery process. Financial Assistance Under the Scheme

• Beneficiaries can establish a dairy unit with 25 indigenous cows of Sahiwal, Gir, Tharparkar, or a combination including up to 5 Gangatiri cows.
• The state government provides a subsidy of 50% of the approved project cost for establishing eligible dairy units.
• For a unit consisting of 25 Sahiwal, Gir, or Tharparkar cows, the approved project cost is ₹62.50 lakh, and the beneficiary can receive a subsidy of up to ₹31.25 lakh.
• For a unit consisting of 20 Sahiwal, Gir, or Tharparkar cows along with up to 5 Gangatiri cows, the approved project cost is ₹61 lakh, and the beneficiary can receive a subsidy of up to ₹30.50 lakh.
• Up to 35% of the approved project cost can be financed through a bank loan, while the beneficiary is required to contribute only 15% of the project cost.
• The subsidy is released in three instalments based on the progress of the dairy unit establishment.
• Beneficiaries receive 50% of the approved subsidy in the first instalment, 25% after the purchase of cattle, and the remaining 25% after fulfilment of the prescribed scheme conditions.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must fulfil the following eligibility conditions to avail benefits under Uttar Pradesh Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana:-

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
• Preference will be given to eligible women applicants.
• Aadhaar Card or a valid identity document is mandatory.
• Applicant must have at least 3 years of experience in cattle or buffalo rearing, whose certificate should be issued by the concerned Chief Veterinary Officer.
• Applicant must have a minimum of 0.5 acres of land for the establishment of the dairy unit.
• Applicant must have an additional 1.5 acres of land for fodder cultivation. The land may be self-owned, jointly owned, leased, or obtained through a registered agreement of at least 7 years.
• The land proposed for the project should be free of waterlogging and suitable for dairy farming.
• Beneficiaries who have already availed benefits under Kamdhenu Yojana, Mini Kamdhenu Yojana, or Micro Kamdhenu Yojana will not be eligible.
• Ear tagging and insurance of purchased cattle will be mandatory as per the scheme guidelines.

Steps to Apply

Eligible dairy farmers who wish to establish an indigenous dairy cattle unit under Uttar Pradesh Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana can submit their application as per the guidelines issued by the Animal Husbandry Department under the Nand Baba Dudh Mission. Applicants should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions before applying. • Verify the details using the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
• After successful registration, log in to the portal using your registered mobile number and username.
• Complete the Uttar Pradesh Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana online application form with the required personal, land, and livestock-related information.
• Upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format.
• Review all details carefully and submit the application form online.
• After successful submission, download and print the submitted application form.
• Submit the signed hard copy of the application form along with supporting documents to the concerned district-level Animal Husbandry Department office for verification and further processing.
