Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana is an important scheme launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2023 under the Nand Baba Milk Mission. The scheme provides an incentive ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 to eligible livestock farmers who rear high-yield indigenous cow breeds such as Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana, Gangatiri, and Tharparkar. The primary objective of the scheme is to increase milk production, improve the income of livestock farmers, promote conservation of indigenous cattle breeds, and encourage scientific dairy farming practices across the state.

Under the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana, incentive assistance is provided based on the verified average daily milk production of eligible indigenous cows. Different milk production benchmarks have been prescribed for different breeds, and farmers meeting these standards receive an incentive of ₹10,000 or ₹15,000 along with a Certificate of Appreciation. The scheme is being implemented in all districts of Uttar Pradesh and aims to motivate livestock farmers to adopt better breeding, nutrition, healthcare, and management practices for their cattle.

The benefit of the scheme is available only for eligible cows in their first, second, or third calving. A cow can receive the benefit only once during its lifetime, while an individual livestock farmer can claim incentives for a maximum of two cows. To be eligible, the cow must be identified through a microchip, ear tag, or any other recognized identification system and must also be covered under a valid insurance policy. Farmers must submit their application within 45 days from the date of calving to be considered for the incentive.

Eligible applicants must be residents of Uttar Pradesh and at least 18 years of age. The scheme is available only to individual livestock farmers and not to groups, firms, or organizations. Interested farmers can use the registration and login facilities available on the Nand Baba Milk Mission Portal and submit the required details along with supporting documents such as Aadhaar Card, bank account details, cattle identification information, insurance details, and other prescribed records. After submission, the concerned authorities verify the breed, identification details, and milk productivity of the cow before approving the incentive.

Milk productivity is assessed through a field verification process conducted over two consecutive days based on four milkings. The average daily milk yield determined during this verification is used to decide the incentive amount payable to the farmer. After approval by the competent district-level committee, the incentive amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Apart from the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana, the Nand Baba Milk Mission also implements other dairy development initiatives such as the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau-Samvardhan Yojana. These schemes collectively aim to strengthen the dairy sector, create self-employment opportunities, promote indigenous cattle rearing, and increase the income of rural families across Uttar Pradesh.

• New users should complete registration by selecting the "Register" option and providing the required details.
• Log in to the portal using the User ID and Password generated during registration.
• Select the application option for the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana.
• Enter the required details of the applicant and the eligible cow.
• Upload the prescribed documents, including Aadhaar details, bank account information, insurance details, and cow identification proof.
• Review the information entered in the application form and submit it online.
• After submission, note down the application number for future reference.
• The concerned authorities will verify the cow's breed, identification details, insurance status, and milk production.
