Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Bihar Mukhyamantri Vidhyarthi Protsahan Yojana is a merit-based incentive scheme implemented by the Minority Welfare Department, Government of Bihar. The scheme aims to encourage students from the minority community to continue higher education after securing First Division in the prescribed examinations. By providing financial assistance, the government seeks to reduce the financial burden on students and motivate them to achieve better academic results. The incentive amount is credited directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Under the scheme, eligible Minority Muslim girls who pass the Intermediate (Class 12) or Maulvi examination in First Division receive a one-time incentive of Rs. 15,000. Students who pass the Fauquania examination in First Division are eligible to receive Rs. 10,000. The benefit is available only once for each academic year and is released after successful verification of the application and supporting documents.

For the 2025-26 academic session, the Government of Bihar has launched a dedicated online portal for the Bihar Mukhyamantri Vidhyarthi Protsahan Yojana. Eligible students can now register, verify their eligibility and submit the application completely online through the official portal. After successful verification, they can register, fill out the application form, upload the required documents and submit their application online.

To receive the scheme benefits, applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar and belong to the notified minority community. They should ensure that all the information provided in the application is correct and that their Aadhaar is seeded with their bank account for DBT payment. The concerned educational institution and the competent authority verify the application before the incentive amount is released. Students should also submit only one application for the relevant academic year to avoid rejection.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must fulfill the following eligibility conditions to receive benefits under the Bihar Mukhyamantri Vidhyarthi Protsahan Yojana:

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
• Applicant must belong to the notified minority community (Muslim).
• The student must have passed the qualifying examination with First Division.
• The scheme is available only for students who have passed the following examinations from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB):
  • Intermediate (Class 12) – Only for Minority Muslim Girls.
  • Maulvi Examination – Only for Minority Girls.
  • Fauquania Examination – For both Boys and Girls.
• The applicant can avail the benefit only once in an academic year.
• Only one application should be submitted for an academic year. Multiple applications may lead to rejection.

Steps to Apply

Eligible students can apply for the Bihar Mukhyamantri Vidhyarthi Protsahan Yojana through the official online portal by following these steps:

• Visit the official Mukhyamantri Vidhyarthi Protsahan Yojana portal.
• On the Student Registration page, select the Academic Session, Class and Board.
• Enter your Registration Number/Roll Number of the last qualifying examination and click on "Verify & Proceed" to check your eligibility.
• If you are found eligible, complete the online registration by providing your Name, Aadhaar Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Email ID.
• After successful registration, your User ID and Password will be sent to your registered mobile number.
• Read the declaration carefully before proceeding with the online application.
• Log in using the provided credentials and change your password during the first login.
• Fill in the online application form by entering your personal, academic and bank account details.
• Upload the required documents, including Aadhaar Card, Bihar Residence Certificate, Registration Card, qualifying examination certificate or marksheet, photograph and signature.
• Review all the information carefully before submitting the application, as no modification is allowed after final submission.
• Submit the application online and download or print the acknowledgement receipt for future reference.
• The concerned educational institution will verify the application. The competent authority will also conduct document and physical verification before approving the application.
• After successful verification, the incentive amount will be credited directly to the applicant's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
