Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• In 2025, the Bihar Government launched several new welfare initiatives for the people of the state.
• Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kalakar Pension Yojana, Mukhyamantri Divyangjan Udhyami Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Guru Shishya Parampara Yojana are the major announcements of the Bihar Government.
• On 29 August 2025, the state cabinet approved another significant program named "Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana" (मुख्यमंत्री महिला रोजगार योजना) to support women beneficiaries of Bihar.
• The scheme's primary objective is to encourage women to start their own businesses by providing financial support.
• The Rural Development Department of the Bihar Government is the Nodal Department of this scheme.
• Under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana, all eligible women of Bihar will receive financial support in a phased manner:-
  • An initial assistance of Rs. 10,000 will be provided to start their chosen business activity.
  • After six months, the business's performance will be assessed.
  • Based on the evaluation, additional financial assistance of Rs. 2,00,000 will be provided.
  • However, this extended assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to these women in 4 stages.
  • In each stage, women must contribute 25 per cent of the received amount from their own.
• Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar has announced that the disbursement of the first instalment of Rs. 10,000/- under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana will begin from September 2025.
• Bihar Government sets a mandatory key point in which benefits of Rs. 10,000/- for business support under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar will be provided to only those women beneficiaries who are members of a Self Help Group.
• Bihar Government also plans to set up Haat Bazars, offering women entrepreneurs a platform to sell their products.
• Women belonging to rural areas can apply for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana by submitting an offline application form, which is available at the JEEViKA Gram Sangathan office.
• Women from urban areas can apply through the Portal of Mahila Rojgar Yojana of the Bihar Government.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this scheme officially on 26-09-2025 and transfer 1st installment of Rs. 10,000/- directly into the bank account of around 75 lakh women beneficiaries.
• On 03-10-2025, Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar transferred the first instalment of Rs. 10,000/- in the bank account of another 25 lakh women beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
• Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar, further transferred Rs. 2,100/- Crore in the bank account of 21 lakh beneficiaries on 06-10-2025.
• The Beneficiary Women List of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana is available in the Gram Sangathan Office.
• Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana Payment Status can be checked by contacting the Gram Sangathan Office.

Scheme Benefits

• Women applicants will receive financial support to set up their own self-employment business.
• An initial amount of Rs. 10,000/- will be given as the first instalment.
• The business's performance will be reviewed after six months.
• Based on this evaluation, additional financial assistance of Rs. 2,00,000 will be provided in four stages.
• For further support to women entrepreneurs, Haat Bazars (local markets) will be established to help them showcase and sell their products.
• The government will also provide skill training.

Assistance Amount Stages

The assistance amount provided under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana will be provided to beneficiary women in stages. In each stage, the Govt will transfer the prescribed amount via DBT. In addition, the beneficiaries are also required to contribute 25 per cent of the amount they received.

Eligibility Requirement

• Applicant Women should be a Permanent Resident of Bihar.
• Women Applicant's Age should be 18-60 years.
• Women Member of JEEViKa SHG are only eligible to get assistance.
• Only one woman per family will get the benefits of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
• Business Activity of Women Applicants will be reviewed after 6 months to evaluate the need for further assistance.

Steps to Apply

• Women applicants of Bihar can apply for the Mahila Rozgar Yojana through the following ways :-
  • For Rural Area Applicant :- Through the Offline Application Form.
  • For Urban Area Applicant :- Through the Online Application Form.

Offline Application Process

• Women living in rural areas can apply for the first instalment of Rs. 10,000/- under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana of the Bihar Government by filling out an application form.
• This application form is provided free of cost at the office of the Mahila Gram Sangathan.
• Applicants have to collect the form from the office and carefully enter all the required information.
• The form is divided into three sections, where in the second section, the applicant must mention the business she plans to start.
• All the supporting documents must be attached along with the form.
• The completed application form with the documents has to be submitted at the Mahila Gram Sangathan office.
• After receiving the forms, the Gram Sangathan President will hold a members' meeting, check the details, and give preliminary approval for the release of the first instalment.
• The names of the approved women applicants will then be sent to the Prakhand Unit of BRLPS for the next stage.
• Information of all selected beneficiaries will be recorded in the MIS Portal and forwarded to the District Unit of BRLPS.
• The District Unit of BRLPS will reverify the details and forward the cases to the BRLPS Headquarters.
• The Headquarters of BRLPS will directly transfer the amount of Rs. 10,000/- as a first instalment into the bank account of the selected beneficiaries.

Online Application Process

• Bihar Government's Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana Website.
• Through this Official Website, women applicants of urban areas can apply for Rs. 10,000/- financial assistance under the Mahila Rozgar Scheme.
• Open the Portal and Click on Apply Online.
  
• Fill in the personal details, contact details, bank account details and the details about the business in Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana Online Application Form.
• Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.
• Click on the submit button to submit the online application form.
• Officials of the Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society will verify the received application form and make a list of eligible women beneficiaries.
• Selected Women beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- as a first installment to start a business under the Bihar Government's Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
