Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
Mukhyamantri Naunihal Chatravriti Yojana is an educational assistance scheme implemented by the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board for the welfare of children belonging to registered construction worker families. The scheme aims to promote education among the children of construction workers by providing annual financial assistance in the form of scholarships.
Construction workers often face economic challenges in supporting the education of their children. Expenses related to school admission, books, uniforms, tuition fees, examination fees, transportation, and higher education can create a significant financial burden on labour families. To address these challenges and ensure that children from construction worker households have access to quality education, the Board provides scholarship assistance under this scheme.
The scheme covers students studying from Class 1 to postgraduate and professional courses. The scholarship amount varies according to the level of education and is provided annually. Female students are entitled to receive higher scholarship assistance than male students to encourage girls' education and improve educational opportunities for young women.
The scheme was originally operated as Naunihal Chatravriti Yojana and was subsequently revised and renamed as Mukhyamantri Naunihal Chatravriti Yojana through a notification issued by the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board in October 2022. The revised scheme continues to support the educational aspirations of children of registered construction workers throughout the state.
By providing financial assistance at different stages of education, the scheme helps reduce dropout rates, encourages continuation of studies, and supports students pursuing higher education and professional courses. Through this initiative, the Government of Chhattisgarh seeks to improve educational outcomes and create better opportunities for children from labour families.
Students may also explore other education-related schemes in Chhattisgarh, such as the Chhattisgarh Atal Career Nirman Yojana, Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana, Chhattisgarh CM IT Fellowship Program, and Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Shiksha Sahyog Yojana. These schemes provide various forms of educational assistance, scholarships, and support for higher studies and competitive exam preparation.
