Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
The "Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana" is an educational welfare scheme implemented by the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to support the children of registered construction workers. The scheme provides financial assistance to help students continue their education without financial constraints and encourages them to pursue higher studies and professional courses.
The scheme is the current version of the "Chhattisgarh Medhavi Chhatra/Chhatra Shiksha Protsahan Yojana", which was later revised and renamed by the Government of Chhattisgarh. While the earlier scheme mainly focused on providing educational incentives to meritorious students, the present scheme also includes reimbursement of professional education expenses, assistance for courses such as Engineering, Medical, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, Polytechnic, IIT and IIIT, and financial support for eligible students pursuing higher education abroad.
Through the Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana, students securing 75% or more marks in Class 10, Class 12, Graduation, Post-Graduation and Professional Courses can receive annual educational incentives. The scheme also rewards top-performing students in the Chhattisgarh Board examinations with special incentives, including a cash award and assistance for purchasing a two-wheeler.
The scheme also covers admission fees, educational fees, hostel expenses and food charges for eligible professional courses. Students pursuing professional education can receive additional support for books and stationery, while eligible students studying abroad can receive educational assistance of up to ₹50 lakh per academic session along with other admissible expenses.
Through these benefits, the Government of Chhattisgarh aims to promote academic excellence, improve access to higher education and create better educational opportunities for the children of registered construction workers across the state.
