Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Punjab Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana is a major women-centric welfare scheme launched by the Government of Punjab to provide direct financial assistance to adult women across the state. The scheme was announced by the Punjab Government during the State Budget presentation on 8 March 2026, coinciding with International Women's Day, and was officially launched on 14 April 2026 under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development, Punjab, is responsible for implementing and monitoring the scheme throughout the state.

The primary objective of the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana is to strengthen the financial security and economic independence of women, improve household welfare, enhance women's participation in financial decision-making, provide predictable financial support to vulnerable families, and promote gender equality and inclusive development across the state. Through this initiative, the Punjab Government aims to ensure that women have direct access to regular financial assistance for their personal and household needs.

Under this initiative, eligible women residents of Punjab will receive monthly financial assistance directly in their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category are entitled to receive Rs. 1,500 per month, while all other eligible women receive Rs. 1,000 per month. The government has clarified that there is no restriction on the number of eligible women from the same family who can receive benefits under the scheme. Existing beneficiaries of social security pension schemes, including old age pension, widow pension, and disability pension, are also eligible to receive the full benefits of this scheme in addition to their existing pension benefits.

Women who are 18 years of age or above, are registered voters in Punjab, and possess valid Aadhaar and Voter ID cards can apply under the scheme. The Punjab Government has also allowed women already receiving benefits under existing social security pension schemes, including old age pension, widow pension, and disability pension, to avail benefits under this programme. However, current or retired government employees, present or former Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and income tax payers are excluded from the scheme.

The Government estimates that nearly 97 per cent of adult women in Punjab may become eligible under the scheme and has proposed a budget allocation of around Rs. 9,300 crore to ensure smooth implementation. Earlier, the Punjab Government released the Punjab 1000 Rs Scheme Guidelines on 2 April 2026. And to provide scheme benefits to eligible women, the registration process started on 15 April 2026 in selected Assembly constituencies and was later expanded across the remaining constituencies of the state.

For registration, the government has established more than 26,000 centres across Punjab, including Sewa Kendras, Anganwadi Centres, Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, and Municipal Committee offices. In a recent development, registration for the scheme in Pathankot district officially commenced on 16 June 2026, enabling eligible women in the district to submit their applications through designated registration centres and local government offices.

The first instalment under the scheme was credited in July 2026. The Punjab Government has now released scheme next instalment on 1 October 2026. Under the latest payment, 36,87,677 eligible women are receiving three months' financial assistance directly in their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. General-category women receive Rs. 3,000 for three months, while eligible Scheduled Caste women receive Rs. 4,500.

Latest Update

The Punjab Government has released the second instalment under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana on 1 October 2026. Under this instalment, financial assistance for three months is being transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible women through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. A state-level programme was held at Goindwal Sahib for the release of this instalment.

Eligible women from the general category will receive Rs. 3,000 for three months, while eligible Scheduled Caste (SC) women will receive Rs. 4,500 for the same period. The total amount being transferred under this instalment is more than Rs. 1,260 crore.

Scheme Benefits

• The Punjab Government provides monthly financial assistance to eligible women beneficiaries under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana.
• Women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category receive financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 per month.

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must be a woman aged 18 years or above.
• She must be a registered resident voter of the State of Punjab.
• The applicant must possess a valid Aadhaar Card and Punjab Voter ID Card.
• Women already receiving benefits under Punjab Social Security Pension Schemes, including Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, and Disability Pension, are also eligible to apply under the scheme.
• There is no restriction on the number of eligible women from the same family who can receive benefits under the scheme.

Who is Not Eligible?

• Regular (permanent) or retired employees of the Punjab Government, Central Government, or any other State/UT Government.
• Regular or retired employees receiving a pension from any Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), Statutory Board, Corporation, Commission, Committee, Directorate, Cooperative Institution, or Tribunal established under the Central or State Government.
• Women who have paid income tax of Rs. 1 or more during the previous financial year.
• Serving or former Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
• Spouses of serving Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs).

Steps to Apply

Eligible women can apply for the Punjab Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana through the registration facilities arranged by the Punjab Government. Applications can be submitted through designated Anganwadi Centres, Sewa Kendras, or with the assistance of Mahila Satkar Sakhis deployed for beneficiary outreach and registration support.

Option 1: Through Anganwadi Centre or Sewa Kendra

• Visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre or Sewa Kendra designated for scheme registration.
• Carry the required documents, including Aadhaar Card, Punjab Voter ID Card, Bank Account Details, and other applicable documents.
• Provide the required personal and bank account information to the registration official.
• Submit the necessary documents for verification.
• After successful verification, the application will be processed under the scheme.
• Once approved, financial assistance will be transferred directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT.

Option 2: Through Mahila Satkar Sakhi

• Women who are unable to visit a registration centre may seek assistance from a Mahila Satkar Sakhi operating in their locality.
• The Mahila Satkar Sakhi helps eligible women understand the scheme requirements and complete the registration process.
• Applicants must provide the required documents and personal details for verification.
• The registration details are collected and forwarded to the concerned authorities for verification and approval.
• If required, assistance may also be provided regarding Aadhaar seeding and DBT readiness of the beneficiary's bank account.
• After approval, the scheme benefit is transferred directly into the beneficiary's bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Note: Registration under the Punjab Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana is free of cost. Applicants should submit their details only through government-authorised registration centres or designated Mahila Satkar Sakhis.

Punjab 1000 Rs Scheme Online Application Process

At present, the Punjab Government has not launched any official online application portal for the Punjab Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana. Eligible women can currently apply only through the offline registration process available at designated registration centres across the state.

The Government has established registration facilities through Sewa Kendras, Anganwadi Centres, Municipal Corporation Offices, Municipal Council Offices, and other authorised centres for scheme enrollment and verification.

If the Punjab Government introduces an online application facility or any other digital application process in the future, the complete online application procedure will be updated in this section for the benefit of applicants.

Punjab Women Scheme Application Status

If you have already submitted your application under the Chief Minister Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Scheme, you can track its current status online through the Punjab e Seva Portal by following these steps:

• Visit the official Punjab e Seva Portal.
• On the homepage, click on the Seva Kendra option.
• Select Track Services.
• Click on Track Citizen Services and then select Proceed.
• Enter your Application Number in the required field.
• Fill in the displayed Captcha Code.
• Click on the Submit button.
• Your application status will appear on the screen. You can check whether your application has been accepted, is under processing, or has moved to another stage.
  

Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana Instalment Date

The Punjab Government released the second instalment of the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana on 1 October 2026. The government transferred three months' financial assistance to eligible women under this instalment.

Under the October 2026 instalment, eligible women from the general category receive Rs. 3,000 for three months, while eligible Scheduled Caste (SC) women receive Rs. 4,500. The assistance is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

A total of 36,87,677 women are covered under this instalment, and more than Rs. 1,260 crore is being transferred to their bank accounts. Beneficiaries can confirm the receipt of the instalment by checking their bank account statement, passbook or SMS notification received from their bank.

How to Check Mukh Mantri Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana Payment Status?

Currently, the Punjab Government has not launched any official online facility or portal to check the payment status of the Mukh Mantri Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana. Beneficiaries cannot check their instalment status online at present.

Women whose instalment has been credited will generally receive an SMS notification from their bank. Beneficiaries can also verify the credit by checking their bank account statement or passbook.

If an eligible beneficiary has not received an SMS or the financial assistance has not been credited to her bank account, she should contact the concerned Women and Child Development (WCD) Department office for assistance and verification of her application and bank details.
