Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Tamil Nadu Annan Seer Thittam is a newly announced marriage support initiative of the Tamil Nadu Government that aims to provide a traditional wedding gift to eligible families marrying their daughters. The scheme was also included in the election manifesto as Annan Seer Thittam. The manifesto proposed the benefit for families marrying a daughter whose annual household income is below ₹5 lakh. At present, Annan Seer Thittam remains an announcement and has not yet been formally implemented. Therefore, applicants cannot currently submit an application or claim the proposed benefits. The final eligibility conditions, application process, nodal agency and document requirements can be confirmed only after the government completes the necessary approval and implementation process.

Annan Seer Thittam is among several welfare initiatives announced by the Tamil Nadu Government. Other announced initiatives include Vetri Payanam Thittam, which focuses on travel support, the Thaimaaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam, which proposes a gold ring for eligible newborns, and Vetri Magalir Aadu Valarpu Thittam, which aims to support women through goat-rearing assistance. While these initiatives address different household and livelihood needs, Annan Seer Thittam specifically focuses on providing marriage-related assistance.
