Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
The Uttar Pradesh Agri Junction Yojana, officially known as the Prashikshit Krishi Udyami Swavalamban Yojana, is a state government scheme run by the Agriculture Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The department started this scheme in 2022-23 to help trained agriculture graduates set up their own agri-input business centres, called AgriJunction centres, where farmers can buy quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and also get technical advice in one place.
The government launched the Agri Junction Scheme with two clear objectives. The first is to give farmers easy access to genuine agricultural inputs and information on improved farming techniques close to their villages. The second is to create self-employment for unemployed youth who hold degrees in agriculture and allied subjects, so that their technical knowledge directly reaches the farming community instead of going unused.
Under the scheme, a selected candidate can take a bank loan of up to ₹3,50,000 to set up the centre and receive an interest subsidy of up to ₹42,000 on that loan through the bank. The government also pays 50% of the shop rent for one year, up to ₹2,000 per month. On top of this, selected candidates get a free licence to sell fertilizers, seeds and pesticides, along with free training on starting and running the business.
The AgriJunction Yojana runs for five years, up to 2027, with a target of setting up 10,000 AgriJunction centres across the state. NABARD provides technical support, while cooperative and commercial banks provide the loans. The department selects one beneficiary per development block (Vikas Khand), and a district-level committee chaired by the District Magistrate or Chief Development Officer screens the applications. A total of 4,395 centres have already been established under the scheme.
The Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department accepted online registrations for the AgriJunction scheme for the 2026 cycle only till the fixed last date of 30 May 2026. Registration is now closed, and no dates for the next application round have been officially announced by the concerned authority yet.
Along with the Agri Junction scheme, the Uttar Pradesh Government is also implementing other farmer-support initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, which aims to provide easier access to agricultural credit for small and marginal farmers, and the Atmanirbhar Krishak Samanvit Vikas Yojana, focused on promoting integrated and self-reliant agricultural development. You can check the complete details of these schemes here.
