Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Labour Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh implements a comprehensive range of welfare schemes for the economic and social empowerment of registered workers and their families. Among these, the Chhattisgarh Didi e-Rickshaw Sahayta Yojana stands out as a significant women-centric initiative designed to strengthen the livelihoods of the state’s registered women construction workers.

The scheme provides eligible women workers, registered with the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, with a grant covering 60 per cent of the cost of an e-rickshaw, subject to a maximum limit of ₹1.50 lakh. This amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The remaining cost can be met through personal savings or a bank loan, making ownership of the vehicle genuinely accessible.

By enabling women to own an income-generating asset, the scheme helps them move away from irregular daily-wage work towards a stable and independent source of livelihood. Ownership of an e-rickshaw not only ensures a regular monthly income but also enhances financial autonomy, mobility, and decision-making power within the family and community. As an electric vehicle, the e-rickshaw further contributes to the promotion of clean, sustainable, and pollution-free transport across the state.

Applications under the Didi e-Rickshaw Sahayta scheme can be submitted online or in the prescribed format by visiting the concerned District Labour Office or a Shramik Suvidha Kendra / Common Service Centre (CSC). Scheme Benefits

Under the current provision of the scheme, an eligible woman worker is provided a maximum assistance of ₹1,50,000 (one and a half lakh rupees) to purchase an e-rickshaw. This amount was enhanced to ₹1.50 lakh by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti (17 September 2025) at the Workers' Grand Convention held in Raipur.

• A direct grant of ₹1.50 lakh (up to 60% of the e-rickshaw's cost) for an e-rickshaw to registered women construction workers.
• The remaining amount may be borne by the beneficiary herself or arranged through a bank loan.
• Women can earn a regular monthly income by operating the e-rickshaw.
• Economic and social empowerment of women through self-employment.
• The assistance amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
• Being an electric vehicle, it also promotes environmental protection.

Eligibility Requirements

To avail the benefit of the Didi e-Rickshaw Sahayta Yojana, the applicant must meet the following conditions:

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh.
• The applicant must be a woman construction worker and must be registered with the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Worker Welfare Board.
• A minimum of 3 years of registration with the Board is required (the registration must be active/renewed).
• The applicant's age should generally be between 18 and 50 years.
• The applicant must hold a valid driving licence to operate the e-rickshaw.
• The beneficiary must not have availed the benefit of this scheme earlier.
• This benefit is available only once in a beneficiary's lifetime.

Steps to Apply

To avail of the benefits of this scheme, application can be submitted through online, by following the steps below.

• First visit the Chhattisgarh Shramevjayate portal.
• On this page, click on Schemes under the Resources tab.
• Here, search Chhattisgarh Didi e-Rickshaw Sahayta Yojana and click on Apply or Aavedan tab.
• On new page enter your District name and New Registration number and click on Search tab.
• Then you will be redirected to the online application form.
• Select the scheme here and verify the OTP, after which the beneficiary details will be displayed.
• Now carefully fill in all the information requested in the application form and upload all the required documents.
• After filling all the required details click on submit tab.
• keep the Application Number safe for future reference
• Registered workers may also access schemes and submit applications through the department's official "Shramev Jayate" mobile application, available on Google Play.
• The application can also be submitted in the prescribed format by visiting the concerned District Labour Office or a Shramik Suvidha Kendra / Common Service Centre (CSC).

Note: Where the e-rickshaw is purchased through a bank loan, the application for the scheme must be submitted within 90 days of the loan being sanctioned.

Applicants can check the status of their application by following the steps below:

• First visit the Shramevjayate portal.
• Click on View Scheme Status.
• Here select Scheme Name (Chhattisgarh Didi e-Rickshaw Sahayta Yojana).
• Enter your Application Number.
• Complete the captcha and click on "Check Status".
• The current status of your application will be displayed on the screen.
