Latest Update on Assam Jibon Prerana Scheme

The Assam Government resumed the Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme in September 2026 and released financial assistance to eligible graduates from the 2025 batch. On 1 September 2026, the government released Rs. 10,000 each to 47,505 Aadhaar-linked beneficiaries, covering the monthly assistance for April, May, June and July 2026. The total assistance released in this round is approximately Rs. 47.50 crore.

Each eligible graduate continues to receive Rs. 2,500 per month for 12 months. The April to July 2026 payments were delayed due to the Model Code of Conduct during the Assam Legislative Assembly elections and have now been released.

The Assam Government has also stated that around 1,000 additional beneficiaries whose Aadhaar-related issues are being resolved will receive the assistance after completing the required formalities. The Assam Budget 2026-27 had announced the resumption of Jibon Prerana assistance for 48,366 graduates from September 2026.

• Applicants whose parent is a public office holder, government employee or pensioner are not eligible. However, applicants whose parent is a Grade IV Government employee are eligible.
• The applicant's parents must not be registered contractors.
• Applicants belonging to a professional family with annual income above Rs. 10 lakh are excluded.
• Applicants whose parent is employed as an MLA, MP or Minister are not eligible.
