Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
The Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme was launched by the Government of Karnataka in 2023 to provide financial assistance to educated unemployed youth. Under this scheme, eligible unemployed graduates receive ₹3,000 per month, while diploma holders receive ₹1,500 per month. The government transfers this assistance directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme aims to support young people financially while they search for jobs or explore self-employment opportunities.
The main objective of the Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme is to reduce the financial burden on educated unemployed youth. Eligible graduates can receive ₹3,000 per month, and diploma holders can receive ₹1,500 per month for a maximum period of 2 years or until they secure employment or become self-employed, whichever is earlier. Once beneficiaries get a job or start self-employment, they will no longer receive the monthly allowance.
To meet the Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme eligibility criteria, applicants must be domiciles of Karnataka and must have studied in the state for at least 6 years up to the completion of their Degree or Diploma. They must have completed their Degree or Diploma, including professional courses, in the prescribed year and remained unemployed for at least 180 days (6 months) after the declaration of their examination results. Applicants must not pursue higher studies, work in government or private sectors, become self-employed, or receive an apprenticeship stipend. Eligible gender-minority applicants can also apply for the scheme.
Eligible candidates can submit the Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme online application through the Seva Sindhu Portal or Seva One Portal. They can also apply offline through the Karnataka One, Bengaluru One and Bapuji Seva Kendra. Applicants need to provide Aadhaar Card, educational certificates, Karnataka domicile or residency proof, bank account details and the prescribed self-declaration. The concerned department verifies the application before approving the monthly unemployment allowance.
Before applying for the Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme, applicants must check whether their Degree or Diploma Certificate is available on the Karnataka National Academic Depository (NAD) Portal through DigiLocker. They can search for their university or diploma board and check the availability of their academic records. If the certificate is not available, applicants should contact their university or board and request them to upload it to the portal. This step helps the department verify their educational qualification during the application process.
Beneficiaries must continue to meet the scheme conditions and submit the prescribed unemployment self-declaration to receive the Karnataka Yuva Nidhi allowance. Applicants can also check their application status using their application reference number. For official information and application-related services, visit the Karnataka Seva Sindhu Portal, Seva One Portal or the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood. For assistance, applicants can contact the scheme helpline at 1902.

Why it important to support youth with this scheme?
It is a poll promise in the first place. Congress can not afford to miss it. This scheme gives confidence and comfort to the youth who complete graduation or a diploma and are making efforts to fix a good career ahead without depending on the parental support. There are many countries in the world, including advanced nations, that support it's people keeping social justice in mind. Further, more youngsters would like to graduate or do a diploma with such support coming. Parents too do a bit more to encourage this. This helps growth in educated youth. Well, if people try to cheat by filing false information or fudging records and snack such benefits , it's cheating and it won't work. If people and government both work honestly. It all works. It is not that big money to spare by the govt. May be two or three thousand crore.
