Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is one of the flagship women welfare schemes launched by the Government of Karnataka to strengthen the financial position of women and promote their economic empowerment. Under this Karnataka Women Financial Assistance Scheme, eligible women heads of households receive monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 directly in their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The scheme was introduced with the objective of recognizing the contribution of women in managing household responsibilities and providing them with a regular source of financial support.

As per the official Gruha Lakshmi Scheme guidelines, women who are registered as the head of the family in Antyodaya, BPL, or APL ration cards issued by the Food and Civil Supplies Department are eligible to receive the benefit. The Government has clarified that only one woman from a family can avail the assistance under the scheme. Through this initiative, the State Government aims to improve the economic security of women and ensure that financial assistance reaches households across Karnataka.

Under Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Yojana, eligible beneficiaries receive Rs. 2,000 every month, which translates into an annual financial assistance of Rs. 24,000. The amount is credited directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account, ensuring transparency and timely payment of benefits. Women can use the assistance amount for household expenses, children's education, healthcare needs, nutrition, and other day-to-day family requirements. To receive the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme benefit, beneficiaries must complete Aadhaar and bank account linkage as prescribed by the Government.

The scheme covers married women, widowed women, divorced women, and other eligible women who are identified as the head of the household in the ration card records. However, women belonging to families where the head of the household or spouse is an income tax payer or files GST returns are not eligible for assistance under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. These eligibility conditions were included to ensure that benefits are provided to deserving families that require financial support.

Eligible women can submit the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Application Form through the Seva Sindhu Portal or through Government-authorized registration centres. After successful verification of the application and supporting details, the monthly financial assistance is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account. Since its launch, Gruha Lakshmi Scheme has emerged as one of the largest women-centric social welfare programmes in Karnataka and continues to provide financial assistance to lakhs of women beneficiaries across the state.

The following benefits are provided to eligible women beneficiaries under Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme :-

• Monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 is provided to eligible women heads of households.

Through DBT Karnataka Mobile App

• Download Karnataka Government's DBT Mobile App from Play Store.
  
• Aadhar Number is mandatory at the time of using the mobile app.
• Enter the Aadhar Number of Women Beneficiary and verify it with OTP.
  
• After OTP verification, DBT Karnataka App will automatically fetch the details of women beneficiaries.
• For easy access to the app, create mPIN.
• Then select Women Beneficiaries Name and enter mPIN to Login.
  
• Select Payment Status from Screen.
  
• Choose Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.
  
• Then, the DBT Status of Gruha Lakshmi Scheme of the Karnataka Government will come on screen.

How to Check the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme RC Schedule

• Now, Enter Your 12 Digit Ration Card Number in RC Number Column and slide the yellow bar in the middle of the Green Bar to successfully verify the captcha. (As shown below)
  
• Now, click on the Fetch RC Details Button.
• After clicking on it, the Date, time, and Place will appear, under which beneficiary has to go and register herself under the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.
  
• Beneficiaries can visit the Centre on the allotted Date and Time and get herself Registered for Financial Assistance under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme of the Karnataka Government.

Eligibility Requirements

Women must fulfil the following conditions to receive Rs. 2,000 per month under Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme :-

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
• Applicant must be the head of the family as recorded in the ration card.
• The family should possess an Antyodaya, BPL, or APL ration card.
• Married, widowed, divorced, and deserted women are eligible to apply.
• Only one woman from a family can receive the scheme benefit.
• The beneficiary must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account to receive DBT payments.
• Existing beneficiaries may have to complete the Government's re-verification process to continue receiving scheme benefits.

Who is Not Eligible?

• Women whose family or spouse pays Income Tax are not eligible.
• Women whose family or spouse files GST returns are not eligible.
• Fake, duplicate, deceased, or otherwise ineligible beneficiaries identified during verification may be removed from the scheme.

Required Documents

The following documents will be required at the time of applying for monthly financial assistance under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Karnataka :-

• Aadhaar Card of the beneficiary woman.

Online Application Process

• Eligible Women Beneficiaries of Karnataka can avail the benefit of Monthly Financial Assistance by filling the Online Application Form of Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.
• The Online Application Form of Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is available on Seva Sindhu Portal of Karnataka Government.
• Women Beneficiaries have to register themselves first.
• Aadhaar Card is mandatorily needed for the online registration of the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.
• After Registration, log in to the same portal.
• After login, fill the details mentioned below step-wise: -

• After scrutiny of applications, the first financial assistance under the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of the beneficiary.

Offline Application Process

• The offline registration for Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is started by the Government of Karnataka.
• Eligible Women can register themselves under Gruha Lakshmi Scheme from 19th July onwards.
• Registration of Women Beneficiary under Gruha Lakshmi Scheme will be done by filling the Offline Application Form of Gruha Lakshmi Scheme at any of the below mentioned centers : -

  • Bengaluru One.
  • Grama One.
  • Bapuji Seva Kendras.
• Praja Pratinidhi present at those above mentioned centers will help the beneficiaries women to fill the Registration Form of Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.
• Praja Pratinidhi will also visit door to door to get women beneficiary registered under this Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.
• The documents mentioned below are to be attached with the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Registration Form : -
