Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Mini Nandini Krishak Samridhi Yojana is a dairy development scheme launched under the Nand Baba Dugdh Mission to promote indigenous cattle rearing and increase milk production across the state. Through the scheme, the Government of Uttar Pradesh provides financial assistance for establishing a dairy unit consisting of 10 indigenous cows. The initiative aims to encourage scientific dairy farming, create self-employment opportunities in rural areas, and help livestock rearers generate a sustainable source of income through commercial dairy farming.

Under the scheme, the project cost for establishing a dairy unit of 10 indigenous cows has been fixed at Rs. 23.60 lakh. Eligible beneficiaries receive a subsidy of 50% of the approved project cost, subject to a maximum of Rs. 11.80 lakh. The remaining project cost is arranged through a beneficiary contribution of 15% and bank loan assistance of up to 35%. Beneficiaries can purchase Sahiwal, Gir, Tharparkar, or a combination of these indigenous breeds. The scheme permits only healthy and disease-free cows that are in their first or second lactation stage and have not calved more than 45 days before purchase.

The Mini Nandini Krishak Samridhi Yojana is one of the key schemes being implemented under the Nand Baba Dugdh Mission. Applications for the Mini Nandini Krishak Samridhi Yojana are invited online through the official Nand Baba Dugdh Mission portal. All applications are scrutinised and verified by the district-level committee. If the number of eligible applications exceeds the target allotted to a district, beneficiaries are selected through an e-lottery process. The subsidy is released in two equal instalments after physical verification. The first instalment is provided after the completion of the dairy infrastructure and cattle shed, while the second instalment is released after the purchase and verification of 10 eligible indigenous cows. Beneficiaries are also required to complete vaccination, ear-tagging, and three-year insurance coverage for all cattle purchased under the scheme.

Eligibility Requirement

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
• The applicant must possess an Aadhaar Card or any other valid identity proof.
• The applicant must have at least three years of experience in cow rearing or buffalo rearing.
• The experience certificate must be jointly certified by the Chief Veterinary Officer/Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer and the Gram Pradhan.
• A minimum of 0.20 acre (approximately 8,712 square feet) of land must be available for establishing the dairy unit and cattle shed.
• An additional 0.80 acre (approximately 34,848 square feet) of land must be available for fodder cultivation.
• The required land should be owned by the applicant, ancestral, or taken on a registered lease/rent agreement for a minimum period of seven years.
• The land earmarked for fodder production must be suitable for fodder cultivation. Waterlogged land or land unsuitable for fodder production will not be considered eligible.

Ineligibility Criteria

• Applicants who have already received benefits under any of the following schemes are not eligible to apply:
  • Kamdhenu Scheme.
  • Mini Kamdhenu Scheme.
  • Micro Kamdhenu Scheme.
  • Nandini Krishak Samridhi Yojana.
  • Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau Samvardhan Yojana.
• Applicants who do not possess the minimum required land for dairy unit establishment and fodder cultivation are not eligible.
• Applicants who do not have at least three years of experience in cow or buffalo rearing are not eligible.

• Land ownership documents (Khatauni, Khasra, or other relevant records).
