Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

With a strong focus on educational welfare and social upliftment, the Government of NCT of Delhi has introduced the Merit Scholarship to SC/ST/OBC Students Studying in Professional/Technical Colleges/Institutions/Universities. This scheme is designed to provide financial support to meritorious students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), the Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backwards Classes (OBC), enabling them to pursue their education without financial constraints.

The scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated consistent academic performance by securing at least 60% marks in their previous academic year and are enrolled in recognised institutions. It covers a wide range of courses, including professional, technical, diploma, certificate, and general degree programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Through this initiative, the government aims to reduce financial barriers, promote equal access to quality education, and encourage students from disadvantaged communities to continue their academic journey. By supporting deserving students, the scheme contributes to their overall development and helps them achieve their educational and career aspirations.
